here is my daughters pet hamster tea tree-hammy, shes about 2 months old and sweet as pie. my eldest daughter wants her to be famous, so here is tea tree's 15 minutes of fame ha ha.
she is awake most of the day as well as the night and does not nip too often, not entirely tame but u can sort of scoop her up for a few seconds before she jumps out of your hands.
she loves her wheel and my daughter finds it funny that tea tree wakes up and runs to use her potty just like real people do with the toilet. lol.

Awww that's really cute! I have a hamster as well, he's 6 months old and called Sylvio. He's incredibly docile, you can pick him up, turn him on his back and he never bites. He loves food especially mashed potato and on hot days a frozen pea! He's a little fat because me and my housemate spoil him so much! He also loves toilet rolls to chew on. We have a ball for him to run around in and he goes pretty fast! I adore hamsters I think they make great pets for any ages.

yes they are lovely pets, though their bites hurt lol, yours sounds very tame, how did u get him so tame or does it take a while to tame them, tea tree by nature is quite placid and likes us i think, she likes to see what we are doing and if we go to her cage she runs up to us, trying to escape probably. she loves food too and is kind of fat, she would be a lot fatter though without her wheel.
some people say they are boring, i dont see how as when they are awke they rarely sit still for long. always on the go.

Yes, ours runs around lots as well! And he's always been really tame, he doesn't mind noise either which is a good thing because he lives in a house full of Drama students! I think the more you handle them the tamer they become. We make sure we get him out for a run around every day.
