Do you even exist yet????
I'm a stay-at-home mum with a 3 year old son and am 6 months pregnant - living in a 3 bed semi near Poole in Dorset. Once a week we go to the local Mother & Toddler group which I helped to set up & when asked if he'd like a little brother or sister, my sons says '..or we could get a pig or sumfing...' (He got a little brother) I am about the same weight as I am now but my hair is longer and all the same colour... its before the time I started dying my roots grey

25 years ago I was living with my parents and elder sister near San Francisco. I was in grade school at that point. 4th grade to be more precise! LOL
This is around the time I accidentally blabbed to my mom that my dad ran into a female co-worker while we (he, my sister and I) were at an amusement park. As I was only 9 how was I supposed to know it was his mistress? LOL
I definitely weigh more now than I did back then. I'm also taller too. My hair is longer than it's ever been when I was growing up. It's currently just past my waist. It's the same color when I was 9 though. I never could bring myself to dye it, though I've had a few perms before.

Oh, I didn't say that I'd never dye it. I just haven't done so...yet! LOL I get a few grey hairs every now and then, but I just have my husband pluck 'em for me. But once I get too many for my liking I'll most likely be dying it.
Hmm, pinks and greens. Hell, why not just make it rainbow colored? The possibilities are endless!

What an interesting thing to be asking! Hmmmmmm, I was almost 12 years old 25 years ago, so was living on the West Coast of Australia at the time. It was a year or so prior to my Parents separating, so my home environment wouldn't have been very pleasant at all. I would have been in my final year of Primary School, so probably nervous about having to start High School the following year. I was playing basketball, baseball and Rugby League and very active. I would have been riding my bike a lot and still at that age where my imagination was at full strength, so I would've been building tree houses and playing mock war games on building sites and things like that. I would also have been dressing in some ridiculous stuff and thinking I looked unbelievably cool! (This WAS the 1980's, so it's totally understandable on the fashion front! lol) An interesting aspect of all this for me is that at the time my hair was completely blonde, but when I turned 14, it started to go dark brown.....

"still at that age where my imagination was at full strength" ... err, hello!?! are you trying to pretend you've grown out of that stage???
I'm sure you DID look seriously cool (tho' obviously nowhere near as cool as I did in my petrol blue hotpants with a pink butterfly on the bib part... worn with the strappy black platforms, in the 70s!!)

That outfit sounds magnificent! Yeah, my imagination's still going strong, but it's changed context considerably since those days. I think many of us do keep our imagination's to some extent as we age, but we tend to place subliminal limits on it. As children, there WERE no limits and anything was possible. Logic has this habit of creeping in every now and then nowadays. lol.

I was in a marriage that was going nowhere
I had a toddler just starting school.
Little did I know but things were almost ready to take a turn for the best and as I never leave closed doors shut, once I opened them I found that what was on the other side was well worth discovering Yes that was a turning point 25 years ago

This is not how I am now. It was my life 25 years ago. I was writing it as though I had stepped back in time. My sons are now both grown up and living away. We were fortunate enough to be able to manage on one wage for a few years when they were small(& there were far fewer childcare facilities) Now I have two jobs to keep the bills paid.

I wasn't even born then. xD
I think at that time my parent were dating. They met in southern California.
My mom's japanese and my dad's canadian, and they met at a sushi restaraunt. :)

25 years ago this day... I was turning 5 years old, starting kindergarten, living with my parents and toyed with my Barbie dolls with my elder sister. Also that time, I was waiting for my mom to give birth to my younger brother. Was too much into cartoons then. Life was still carefree.

I'm on my first trip to America, with my husband, 3 children and Mother in Law. We have a great bungalow near Disney World, with a pool just outside. We had to go in August, as that was the only time my husband could take off work, so it was very hot, and we all got sunburned, because then you couldn't get really high factor creams. We ate at Denny's most nights and got to know a great waiter from New York. One night in Pizza Hut, I discovered that after a lifetime of being allergic to cheese, I could eat it again. It was probably the best holiday we ever had.
I was a lot thinner and a lot healthier - I know have 3 types of arthritis, and getting around is difficult some days. I'm still a happy bunny, but now I live in Spain with my second husband. Great topic - nice to have something a bit more imaginative.

I remember our first trip to America. The boys stayed awake through the whole journey, falling asleep just as we pulled into the drive of the hotel! The next night we went to Denny's & an American couple came over to our table saying, Excuse me....' We thought we'd done something wrong but they just complimented us on how well behaved our sons were. We were so proud of them...& still are of course! Thanks for an interesting response. Hope you have lots more good days
