What is your pet peeve?

I hate it when someone lies to me. I know we all do, but I would rather you tell me the truth. It doesn't matter if my feeling will be hurt or whatever. Just tell me. I don't know why people don't realize that it will hurt worse once the lie has festered. It really irks me when someone uses the excuse that they were doing to protect me. I always wonder do they truly believe that I am that fragile or that unstable that I will not be able to deal. I don't know, but eventually the truth is going to come out, so why not just get it over with?
