Midget vs. Monkey

So if midgets are short versions of the human species, what is the monkey equivalent? I've seen gorillas and lemurs, but they aren't the same. Where are all the midget chimps and dwarf orangutans? Why don't they exist in the same capacity?

Welcome to the Lot, newbie! Have you been to a good zoo lately? There are dwarfed versions of almost everything there. They end up in zoos because they have difficulties galore in the wild!

short variants crop up in most animal species via mutation but they usually don't last very long. some dogs are very small because people have selected and bred them. a yorkshire terrier would have a hard time surviving as a wolf.

Philippine Tarsier - World's smallest primate.
The Philippine Tarsiers are the equivalent of midget chimps. They're an endangered species that's why you don't see them often. They are not being moderated and taken care of to be reproduced. they're as small as a man's palm. A lot smaller than human midget of course. It won't be called the smallest primate for nothing. I posted the photo.

midgets aren't exactly short humans. They have diseases and growth hormones deficiencies that cause them to not grow to their full height, or have strange bone formation that makes it impossible for them to grow that large. There are versions of miniature monkeys though, just like their are miniature dogs and things, but it doesn't seem very ethical or very kind to grow animals to be tiny.
