Are you a snob?

At times i'm. I'm a travel snob and a lainguistic snob too :| I love talking to people about the exposure and experiences i have received from my childhood travelling. My father had a trasferable job and we used to move every 3 years to another state/city. This is where i got to learn about differnt people, cultire and their language.
But the only problem is i'm too proud of that and at times this does reflect on my relationships:) So how many of you are a snob here and what are yoy snobbish about :)

Well I don’t think I am snob but I am definitely an introvert person. I do not like to talk and mix with people all the time and can be quite moody about this too. There are a few selected people with whom I can really relate to…while I am not rude to people in general, I just cant sit and gossip with them either…not all the time. I’ll do it only when I feel like it and I like the topic of discussion too.

hmmm - so you like being with like minded people. I feel in a way that is being a snob because you think you think you are a lot differnt from others and need to talk to people who think the way you think :)

In my definition, a snob is someone who has his/her nose high up on everything and everybody. Nothing anybody ever does is good enough for them, they are the best and their opinion is final. They tend to find fault with most and tend to give condesending advise on most issues...they usually walk off in a huff when the situation is not to their liking and have an attitude of pity for everybody around. As I have said, myself I consider more as an introvert and I dont really enjoy chatting on everyday issues...I mean we all are going thru the same grind of life...tell me something different

i am an intellectual snob. i am not proud of this fact but it is just the way things are, people who are not intelligent bore me, there is nothing more boring than a person who is not curious about the world they live in and how things work, or have an interest in continuing to learn. i cannot stand those people.

yes the discussion has to move me, and i should be inspired to make a contribution to it. this seems to be the best way to gather information and different perspectives on various subjects. this way it is easy to wade through the many people and decide on paper who to interface with, instead of suffering through a conversation with someone only to discover one hour later that you are bored out of your mind, and just want out of the conversation!

I am not a snob. I know it for sure, but I have come across snobs. Lol. It is interesting to listen to them. Two days ago I met a girl in my new hostel. I asked her what she is doing. She said that she is working with Tamil movie industry. So, I was curious and asked more abou that.
Then, I came to know that she is working as accountant with a private company, but she acted in a tamil movie (I don't know what role is it) which is stopped half way due to lack of funds. I asked about the main characters of the movie. I coudn't recognize those people because all of them are new people.

People tend to say that i am snob but i'm not. I don't believe in the saying that first impression lasts. I had the same scenario everytime i undergo call center training here in the Philippines. In person, i'm a serious type of person at looks but once i get along with people they prove themselves wrong. It is a stereotype to us to look over one's physical attributes which should't be. Never judge a person by its cover and try to mingle with them. That will break the barriers for all.
