freind of 2 years lost

last night just after midnight we lost our pet budgie. she was a friend and family member.
she was a hand reared bird who used to eat at the table each meal time and used to boss for attention.
day before last a cat thats been hanging round got in when my son went out the back door and it swiped at the bird who was in my husbands hands.
the cats claw got her on the neck, last night she got bad and it was an hours drive to the nearest 24hr vet and with no money and petrol we couldnt do it.
so last night she passed.

Oh I'm sorry to hear that. My friend's bird recently passed as well, they'd had it for awhile, since her daughter was four, she's about to be eight. They don't really know what went wrong, but the bird, basically went into convulsions, like it was having seizures, poor daughter watched the whole thing. Said it was like the exorcism, imagine seeing that now!

That's really sad. I'm sorry for your loss. It feels really bad when you lose a pet that you've had for years and raised it ever since it was very young.

thankyou for your kind words and response.
no we havent done anything to the cat but we also arent going to put any more scraps out for it. hopefully it gets the hint and goes home wherever it lives.
just in case she does have a home i dont want to depraive them of their pet too.
