5 days ago, i had $10.00 in my Paypal account (from my PTR earnings). Yesterday, i logged in to my account and found $0.00. I think i had been pished.
I just learned about 'pishing' earlier, when i was browsing about GPT scams on the net. Pishing is when a certain email carrying the name/logo of legit site (like Paypal) is sent asking for account updates or confirmation of account information (requires the recepient to supply their account name, password, etc) with the intent of identity theft.
I have received one such email and i didn't suspect anything until i rechecked it a while ago and discovered that the link i went to when i "updated" my Paypal account was a bogus one.
So, how about you? Have you been pished? What did you do about it? Please share.

That's terrible - sorry to hear that happened to you! I've received some fake emails before claiming to be from Paypal or from different banks. Luckily, I had heard about these emails going around and didn't give any of my personal information. Thanks for sharing what happened to you - I'm sure it will help others avoid the same thing. Did you follow up with Paypal at all - were they able to tell where your money was sent?

Thanks for sharing your experience here, yeye.
There are a lot of this kind of emails floating around. You should not be updating any of your personal particulars of a website through emails. There are many of these scams asking for your particulars and used it to access your account. So be extra careful in future. Wonder whether if Paypal is able to check where had the amount gone to.

Yes, it is a good learning experience. good thing that i already had withdrawn most of my money early last month and only left %10.00. I have reported this event to Paypal but i am pretty certain that mine is not an isolated case. I also have changed my password and email address there, and i certainly will be extra careful next time. Thanks for the advices guys.

I heard along time ago that this pishing thing was going on and I have never had one request from anything like it. I have been alert to such things. I do pay attention to these things to watch for online. It is very important and even scarey stuff. You have to be careful and on your toes at all times when checking emails and such. So many fraudulent situations to watch out for. Becareful.

No I have not. It is just great to have people like you who issue out warnings to others so that they would be careful when "updating" their accounts.
Thanks for the information!
