I am wondering how important it is to buy special laundry soap for washing an infants clothes and bedding. My baby is due this september. She is my first and I have lots of questions. Well I know that they have special gentle soap for babies, my step mom told me not to waste money on it and just use regular soap and bleach, but I've heard it's important to use the mild soap for babies. Which is right? Do I want to use the milder soap no matter what? Or wait to find out if my baby has sensitive skin? I'd hate to chance it and for her to have an adverse reaction. thanks in advance for your answers any input would be helpful.

You should use the milder laundry detergent for babies. If you use regular laundry soap and bleach, the baby might have a reaction to the soap. Its best not to take any risks with a new baby. If you want to switch soap after the baby gets a little older that would be ok to do. I hope this helps!

Make sure to buy special detergent specifically for infants. I am due in August and I have already begun purchasing these items, I myself have bought Dreft. My mother recommended that I get it, as a babys skin is MUCH MUCH more sensitive then ours is to soaps and etc. So you must be careful when doing babies laundry, always use a different detergent than yours! Good luck and if you have any other baby questions feel free to ask me. I am also going to be a first time mommy but I do have MUCH experience with newborns!
Good luck and hope you have healthy last few months of pregnancy!
