If I am absalutely positively without a doubt in my mind that I am right then I have to have the last word. If it is just a discussion based on feelings or if I am not 100% sure that I am correct then I will not fight as hard, and I will just kind of give up.

Yes they really annoy me as well since mostly when they are trying to get the last word they just make themselves look stupid, but then again maybe that is our reward for putting up with them ?The best think I have learned to do in an argument with somone like this is to just shut up and let them talk after all its better to be quiet and be thought a fool than to open your mouth and prove it LOL

I am one of those people that have to have the last word sometimes. However, I'm not like that all the time. Whenever I know I'm right, I tend to want the last word even more because I get tired of people not listening to me and ignoring me or ignoring the issue. I also need the last word whenever I'm arguing with someone and instead of facing the issue they end up walking away. That really bothers me. If I'm arguing with someone I really want to address the issue and not let someone walk away without addressing the problem.

Usually i am not that person. I let other person have the last word. It doesn't bother me much because i just ignore them if i can not stop them.
But i admit that there are times it annoys me much that she almost insist to me that shes the winner and i am always a loser because i can not keep with her.

Growing up, whenever we had company or if we were staying at some one's house, my brother and I ( still in songle digit ages) usually took this opportunity to act like wild animals playing and having fun. My dad would come in telling us to quiet down...actually he had to make several trips with this same message. Each time as he was walking out the door, he always said that he didn't want to hear another peep out of us. Just as the door was closing, it was always me that said, "Peep".
Since then, I've learned to let some one else have the last word. Well, sometimes anyway.
