If we have a really bad experience in life, how do we get over that. What is the best way to get over something. Just attempt not to think about it? Try to understand why it happened? Or is it something we will just have to live with? Im just trying to use it to help me in live, a kinda live with it but learn from it approach, is this helpful? Any ideas?

Hello x_Jo_x , well from my own traumatic experience I decided to go and speak with a counselor for about 6 months. The only reason I stopped going to my counselor was that I ended up moving about 300 miles away. It really helped speaking about what was troubling me and when I had an appointment I always fell asleep when I got home when most of the time I was restless and agitated. Now when I feel troubled I talk my troubles over with a trusted friend.

Yeah that was recommended to me by a few people at the time, i also talk about it to a few people who are close to me in detail, and im starting to feel more comfortable talking about it more openly since i have a better understanding of it now

te best thing is to get it out in the open, talk to someone about, explain why you feel that way and have theese traumas

Yep it is out in the open now, still feel uncomfortable talking about it to certain people though because it is quite personal and a bad experience

No you shouldn't just forget about it. Talking about traumas is important since not talking means things can get even worse.
