I had read a couple of Asian magazines about the new released cell phones 2009 on Asian market, they are super awesome designed cell phones ever. I have to admit, we are way behind their cell phone technology. What are the reasons. 1. Lack of competitions. We have several gigant mobile services in the states, like Verizon, Tmobile, AT&T, Metro PCS...... In Asia, especially in Japan, they have more than dozens. 2. The popular of cell phone among consumers. Asian population are in fond of brand new cell phones with cheap service, because they have more competitions in the market. 3. Population. Asian has more population, it means the market is bigger. They invest heavily in the Asian market.

Hey, Yea that is a very true statement! I also think that we are sort of behind when it comes to cell phones. Yes that is true, the Asian market invests heavily in the technology aspect side of things, and that is quite good. Make sure you have a good day, Happy Lotting!!

Yes you consider this ccomparison from different point of view!!So if you talk about cellphone brands i think the competition is equal such as in the us brands famous worldwide as Rim,palm, nokia, motorola, apple and so on are normally really good and sold and this is common also to asian market whee products as samsung,lg,htc and so on are really famous and good..so i think from a brand point of view there are equal..surely if you consider about prices and mobile company i think there is more competion in asia and this is good for consumer because have much offers and possibilities to a great range of products, phones and even plan and normally they are cheaper than in the us or europe as well!!! So also mobile os in asia are goodbecause thee are a bit more than in other part of the world where there is always symbian, window mobile, and so on..in asia strted to have more os based on the linux kernel so many users can choice a mong a avriety a little bit bigger!! In conclusion i think both are big market and so may be in asia have great possibilities in this field as in the us may be in this lastly there is a bit big concentration from a national brands or products towards others but this is always a choice for a consumer..not a market trend in itself!!

Halo clorissa, Let me think about market in my country itself. In the recent day, the tendency to have more than one cellphone in common in here. This cause competition among network providers who offer cheap phone rates. So, the people like to have at least two cellphone to adjust the trend. The factories know it, its good condition for market seller. They bring brand new types and models that can reach every market level, nokia for example. Its my opinion about asian market. have a nice day.

Yup! I'm Asian myself, and I'm happy to see the large varieties and brands on phones available at our disposal. I think one reason you forgot to mention, which I feel is very important, would be the high turnover rate of phones for us Asians. Personally, my phones have never lasted more than say 1 yr 2 months each, except one nokia 6310, which I still keep to date! =) It is with such a high turnover rate, explaining why with the high population we have here, makes the Asian market a very attractive and large one. Any further thoughts?
