Everybody knows that the US gov't was wiretapping phone conversations, right? Well, in order for them to do it, they had to assure the communications companies that they wouldn't be held accountable. So congress ,last summer, passed a measure giving immunity to phone carriers involved in wiretapping. Is it really for Congress decide if a company, corporate entity, or even an individual is liable for damages or not? Even the Judge who threw out the case, Vaughn Walker, thinks what congress is doing is pretty shady. He said 'It creates a retroactive immunity for past, completed acts committed by private parties acting in concert with gov't entities that allegedly violated constitutional rights.' He also said the objections of privacy groups weren't strong enough to override the wishes of congress. So you can step on the Constitution as long as congress is ok with it. BTW 0bama voted for the immunity and his administration along with the current "justice" department is pleased by the ruling. What do ya'll think?

I think the wiretaps should never have been done... government eavesdropping on the people is never a good thing and smacks of big brother and totalitarian governments.
The facts the the Great Deceiver supports the immunity, as well as the rest of the Bush policies he campaigned against and now supports, speaks volumes about his lack of character.
He is a liar and a narcissist, and an enemy of America.

To paraphrase 0bama: 'you guys didn't actually believe all that crap i said, did you? I just said that to get elected' turns around and says to Robert Gibbs 'these people are idiots, why do they think i would destroy all the powers the Bush administration gave me? Hell no! I'm gonna use it. Drive it like i stole it, woohoo!'

Well, I'm not down with this, and, by the way, I didn't vote for Obama, either... I think this country is gone to hell. Sorry for speaking my own (minority?) opinion... Feel my sarcasm?
The sarcasm was directed at certain points only, but I certainly do not support this, and I CERTAINLY did NOT vote for Mr. Barrack!!
