This movie feature a lot of old style CGI and is an action fighting martial arts film. I truly enjoy this.
Synopsis:
In the later years of the Ming dynasty, a kung-fu manual known as the "sacred scroll" is stolen from the Emperor's library, triggering off a power struggle to retrieve it. A young swordsman and his fellow disciple are accidently drawn into the chaos when they help their teacher deliver a package to the man who stole the scroll. Also involved are a clan of highlanders who use black magic, a sect of sailors, a martial arts school, and court officials. Ultimately, the true colours of the characters are revealed as the story unfolds into a web of betrays, love, honor, integrity, and friendship which ends with a showdown between the teacher and his eldest disciple.

Is this the one that was released in 1990? I have been looking for it but still could not find a copy. Desperately wanted to watch it. Its IMDB user rating is 7.0 which is quite high. Hope the film will not dissapoint me.

I also enjoyed this movie. Swordsmen was a great action film. It is pretty good for the time it was made and the technology that was present at the time. Usually asian movies always out match American action movies. I always love the fighting scenes in Asian movies or even just asians in general when doing fighting action scenes.
Americans are good at polluting the air when doing action scenes. Lots of smoke and explosions and just gases flying up into the air. That is the type of actions that Americans are good at, but at the same time hurt the environment and blame everyone else for doing it.
