what's the difference between being 'in love' with someone and loving someone ?

Some sites I've visited on the past says that being in love with someone and loving someone has a lot of difference. Share your stories here expressing the difference of these two and opinions are very much welcome. I, myself, believes that being in love is just a present feeling for someone or just a superficial liking to a person. But when you say 'loving someone'...truthfully? Well it has a deeper ...much deeper meaning than the others...

I think there are many types of love. There is the love that you have for your children and grandchildren that is like no other love. Then there is the love that you have for your partner which is a totally different type of love. The love that you have for a partner is more self centered I believe than it would be for the love that you have for your children. The love that you have for your mother can be a different type of love too. I have a question for you! Can you love and hate someone at the same time? Have a great day!

Hi, I'm not really gonna be telling you stories. I'm just gonna share my opinion. See, being "in love with somebody" is an action both persons involved do mutually. They love each other. While "loving someone" one does the action toward the other and the other's direction of love towards the one loving is either non-existent or not focused on the one who loves. Uhm.. Imagine this; in love = two people are in a circle while loving someone =one person is inside the circle looking at the other outside the circle I'm sorry I couldn't be clearer.
