I like animals specially dogs ... but my parents didn't allow me to buy one because as they said (dogs are disgusting) ... they said :- their tongues are always outside their mouths and they are always drooling ... their skin contains many many microbes ... they are not clean like cats (which pee under the ground and then cover it) ... what is your opinion ??? do you really think that they are disgusting ??? and do they really always drool??? and do you have a dog ??? which kind ???

I used to have a dog before but after I moved to live in a flat I had to get rid of it because neighbors didn't like its presence there . If you trained your dog it will never be disgusting as what your parents said . have a nice day

Hi...of course they are not disgusting, who don t like or love pets, in my opinion have a real problem You say about that skin or tang contains many microbes, but is not real...why do you think that specialists say that a kid is more happy with a pet near to him? They are so loving, nice and are real friends

Dog's tongues are cleaner than our butts! This is the truth. Dogs even have an anti-infection agent in their saliva..so when they lick you they are actually really cleaning you! They wash off a lot of germs. My mom used to let our dog lick our scratches from cats and stuff because they have something that is a lot like the stuff we use to put on cuts and scrapes from the store..to keep them from getting infected. Dogs are cleaner than cats. Cats may bury their waste most of the time but if they are angry with you they will do it anywhere. Cats will also eat you if you die and they are left with no food..a dog will not. Really..this is true as well..unless the dog really didn't like you :) But..dogs are cleaner than cats..by the way where do your parents think the tongue should be? Do they realize that dogs don't sweat and will die if they do not get to pant? They do not always drool..if you get a dog that is not a drooler..but they do sometimes..just like kids and adults do..bet you drool in your sleep or something. ..lots of people do. Also dogs coats are cleaner than cats..if you take care of a dog it will never get sick..cats can get sick from alot more things..they get things like Feline Leukemia, more worm problems, distemper is bad in cats..worse than in dogs. Lots of things a cat can die from and a cat won't protect your house, or you if you are attacked.

look above ... someone wrote that dogs lick cats crab ??? this is very disgusting ... and about dogs saliva ... it doesn't contain disinfectant in the contrary they contain many many aerobic and non aerobic bacteria ... so be careful and don't let them lick your scratch again ...

Ummm..are you a vet? and by the way I am an adult..don't tell me what to do..a question was asked..I gave my opinion. Dogs only eat cat crap if you don't clean up after your cat. Kids eat cat poop too sometimes...(if you don't watch them around the cat. ) Dogs have good and bad bacteria in their saliva...do you even know what anerobic is? It's actually quite good for you..it's in yogurt and everything..cheese...you name it a lot of things have bacteria in them that could harm us if in the wrong amounts. Dogs do not have very much in their mouths. We do not have cleaner mouths than dogs...our mouthes are actually dirtier than a dog's but because of the way a dog washes himself, he removes a lot more bacteria from himself than we do with just "paper". So, before you say "don't do that again", I'll have you know that I have never been on antibiotics for bad scratches and cuts because my dog licked my wounds. followed by proper bandaging..but ..as she would have in the wild to one of her own pack..(and guess what..in the wild an animal that cannot get a wound clean will die of infection, but an animal that can lick its wound will often live..why is that if their saliva is so dirty?

No, dogs aren't disgusting in the least. I have 2 dogs, one is a bichon, 2 years old, and a pomeranian 1 year old. They both weigh about 15 lbs each. I am divorced so having dogs in my home has been a good thing, because they have been very good companions for me. They follow me all over the house, even into the bathroom lol. I enjoy having them, even though I do get frustrated at them barking for nothing, but I am working on that, and believe me it isn't easy as I am trying to be calm at the same time. I would never want to be without my dogs, as I ha e the older one since she was 7 weeks old and the younger one since she was 4 mo old. so we are all very attached to each other. Hurray for dogs lol. Well, take care, and happy mylotting.

For me, dogs are not disgusting.I have lots of dogs at home and I love them.If I'm at home, they keep me company. As the saying goes, dogs are a man's best friend. I think it depends on how you look at it though.Between a cat and a dog as a pet,I'd definitely choose dogs because they're fun to play with and easy to train..

I have a cat and 2 dogs. Neither of the dogs fight the cat. Although the cat likes to hit the dogs with her declawed paws if they get too close.

It will depend on the dog you get. Most dogs are not always drooling or having their tongues outside their mouths (one of my dogs drool a little when she seems some tasty food, and the other one just looks at it without drooling). Their skin can have as many microbes as they want, my family and I have never gotten an illness from our dog (we've had them for a couple of years now). My dogs are both mixed breed: a medium sized, black labrador/english setter (the drooler!) and a small pug/beagle mix. Good luck convincing your parents, I hope they let you get one. Having a dog is a fun.

I have both dogs and cats. I have three mini Dachshunds and 3 Siamese cats and a Maine Koon cat. I also am taking care of a friends Pit Bull Lab mix dog. The mini Dachshunds don't drool, but the Pit mix does when I eat ice cream. The greatest part of having a house full of furry friends is that companionship and laughter they bring to my life. Khuay, who is the cat pictured in my avatar, is the real character of the crew. He constantly has me laughing with his antics. Tonight, for example, he jumped up on the side of the tub and was walking along the edge when he fell in (I was taking a bath at that point). He sat there a minute looking shocked and then he casually jumped out with the attitude of "I meant to do that". As for my animals being disgusting, I find little that they do as being disgusting. About the only thing that I get a bit grossed out about is when the dogs vomit and then they eat it again. ICK!!! But that is the nature of the beast. I have had animals all my life, and will continue to share my life and my home with my furry companions.

Not all dogs drool. All people don't always drool. Humans have many more skin problems than dogs eg; mites, crabs, lice, pimples, kancar sores, scabes, warts and so on.. Cats lick all over their bodies, some people whish they could. They get hair balls cleaning themselves and others.. I have Bouviers, when it is hot outside they drool.. normal temp they r ok.. If u want u can find discusting in everyone or everything...

Their drool is a bit disgusting but hey, babies drool too and no one stops having them. While a cat may have affection for you, a dog will always love you unconditionally. I love most breeds, favor Labs and Golden Retrievers. I think on the other hand, people should not continue to breed Pit Bulls or wolf hybrids since the danger is too great they will turn on someone.

I love dogs. they have to stick thier tongues out due to sweat glands. It's not disgusting at all. We have a lot of disgusting habits too lol. I have a calico cat right now. We've had her for a year and she's a sweety. I'd love to get a german shepherd, but we need a bigger yard first. I like dogs and cats equally and love having both of them. As long as you keep your pets clean and clean up after them they are never disgusting.

Now the Rottweiler, and was the senbernar even earlier. With senbernar we together have grown. It were huge, good dog.Its name Stepan and with it very much loved to play all children who lived in the neighbourhood.Rottweiler too oche friendly and quiet a dog.It is necessary, certainly to watchfor it, to wash to it paws after walk and to comb out a wool special a brush, this process very much is pleasant to it.As if to dog a saliva in it on thecontrary contain antiseptic substancesand very much for a long time people gave dogs to lick a wound, thatthey is faster would heal

NO THEY ARE NOT!!! I am the proud owner of a German Shepard , female, called Freya Saphira. She is wonderful. Drooling depends on the breed, mine doesn't drool much. I also have 7 cats...big house , lots of pets... I am both a fan of dogs and cats so ...NO I don't think any pets are disgusting.

Sometimes people has a trouble with pets in general. One of my friend who doesn't like pets (including dogs and cats etc.,) says it disgust her to see animal hairs on the floor, also disgust her to see when pets licks person. She says the tongues has touched floor or whatever on the road and she can't stand to think about where pets were and what they licked. Well this is her opinion but there are people like your parents which is not unusual thing to hear. Me? I love pets, especially dogs. I grew up with dog and now my 15 months old daughter is growing up with 3 years old Dachshund boy. He's beeing my daughter's best friend, he protects her and he plays with her. Whe she cries he goes up to her and make sure she is okay. it's so heart warming to see my daughter and our dog, both are getting along so well. He is our pet but actually more than pet, he is our family member to us. Our dog doesn't drool all the time, and his tongue isn't always ouside his mouth either, depends on dogs I think.

I too love dogs. I love all kinds of animals (even lions and tigers) and Dogs are a little bit special to me. I love them very much. If we look into them as disgusting species, then what about us? We too have many defects. Our mouth is store house of many many germs. It's the cause for many diseases. So, can we avoid having a mouth? Our stomach has a variety of worms. So, can we live without worms? We are also disgusting! We don't have any right to comment on other animals. We must not think in this way. Then we can't even live in this world. Just show love and affection on all lives!
