Mylot will be a good place to pose this question.
What will happen to the virtual presence of a person when he dies?
As times change, we are faced with newer and newer problems. Today, many people have a virtual presence. People have Blogs, websites, are part of social networks like orkut, facebook , twitter and mylot. All these sites contain some or the other information about us. What happens to this enormous amount of data when somebody dies?
One suggestion was, to designate a nominee, just like one would for one's property. But this debate is still wide open. But this system is frought with some problems. For instance, some people have an independent identity online. People reaveal some aspects of their lives online, aspects which they do not necessorily display in the physical life. What happens if a son finds out something about his father he never knew while his father was alive? Intersting predicament ah? Let me know what you folks think.

Hi,
I do not say this is an impossible thing to take place. But as you have pointed out those problems would persist.
There are many whose log in name and password is not known to any pother member of the family. In such case all the data entry would be lost in the cyber ocean if the person suddenly quits this mortal world.
There are some problems for sure.

People almost lead different life altogeather on the net, especially in countris like India because the older generation here is not proficient with the net. Parents often dont read what their children write in blogs. Also, internet can provide us with anonymity.

This is a very personal problem with the person who has revealed the things about him in the net.He has to weigh the pros and cons before divulging any person matters in the web.The onus is absolutely on the person who is committed and one cannot blame any one if anything goes wrong.

This is an interesting question that I have never thought about it. The method you have talked above do have lots of problems, I'm not favor it. So I think it over and an idea comes up. Maybe we can create a specialized memory which will be transfered the dates including the blogs, diaries and posts. So when those dates' host leave the world some time in future, this memories will automatically delete the relevant references online and itself can be taken into the coffin with its host. So we have done with the problem.
