Our first day of classes was moved due to the threat of Swine Flu in our country. It is quite scary because cases here in the Philippines are growing. My friends who took vacation outside the country said that it isn't something I should be worried about because its curable but almost 10% of the cases reported of Influenza A(H1N1) died already. They were spreading a lot of posters about preventions and stuff but I don't think its helping at all. Should I be scared?

Hi there! I suppose we Filipinos should be very careful about this case. But, we shouldn't be too paranoid because with the proper caution, we would get over this threat...like all the other outbreaks that shook us then. I agree that posters DOH posted doesn't help at all, they are in fact, not so reader-friendly. Maybe they should make it more attractive to attract the mass's attention. Good luck there my friend, take care. *smiles*

What's the point in being scared and anxious? The only thing that that's going to accomplish is giving you stomach ulcers, which I've heard are no fun to have. Just use common sense, take proper precautions such as washing your hands after using the restroom or covering your mouth when you cough or sneeze or other things like that, and you'll be all right. :)

We should really pray about this swine flu.. It's really dangerous and should not be taken for granted. My brother have just read from Time Mag that this disease is near to pandemic--meaning, it can be widespread all over the world. And we really have to be careful, since sometimes thermal scanners aren't accurate. And once you're not detected to have one, you can spread it to almost 65,000 people. So let's just pray.. God also hates diseases and according to the Bible, sickness can either be devil's work or the result of all the evilness the world has. So it's a sign that we should turn our faith in God and do good because the consequences are dangerous..

we should not be "worried" but we should be more cautious. swine flu is not really lethal but it is very contagious so we need extra "protection". i'm also from the philippines, and i kinda liked it when they postponed the opening of classes in the university. it's quite scary because the virus is now in Metro Manila, where everything happens.
