Some like taking a bath, some like walking by the beach, a few love to read books but my favorite way to relax is to watch TV.
Do you have a special way to relax after a long and stressful day? Do share it with us, who knows your style becomes a trend-setter for others :)

my favorite stress release is to put on a playlist on zeepod, some mellowed out heavy metal, the melodic operatic kind. then make a coffee and chill out with a good sci-fi book. i am a star wars geek so that is the one i am reading at present. failing that i watch some sci-fi or forensic drama on tv.

they do indeed because i get to disappear and go on a mind adventure for a while depending on the length of reading or movie/show. that is why i like sci-fi it can be so fun!

T.V is a great way of relaxing but I also like to sit and play the piano. Playing music is a great mood enhancer. I used to also take a day off, leave my phone at home and go for a swim followed by a sauna. To not have the phone ringing was a great escape too.
Every morning, I start the day with meditation and this can really set me up for a day's work. I have been doing this for about 30 years now, and I can't imagine starting my day without it. - Derek

Oh! Music is a great stress buster and when you are the musician it is really coooool! Many of my friends who know swimming too think it is relaxing.
I think with the advent of phones, especially cell phones, people seriously misuse it. That is a very good way to stay out of stress when you are already stressed!
I have learnt yoga and i'm a reiki healer too. This means i have learnt meditation twice, but it is shame that i do not meditate even after knowing its benefits. I think it is high time i start practicing all these healing techniques :) Thankyou for sharing your thoughts.

Hi Divkris, I don't have a bath; if not, I would like to soak myself in a hot bubbly bath. Anyway, I often relax with a book or watch TV and Dvds. The most important thing for me is a peaceful environment. After a stressful day, I like to be alone.

Hi Divya, My favorite way to relax is watch TV or sleep. I enjoy sleeping after a good lunch on weekends. It is also relaxing to explain in detail about my stressful day to my room mate. I can't relax going to beach because beach is one hour travel from my house.

I love swimming and relaxing that way but if I can't then I like to relax reading a book or by getting online and doing my sites that can be relaxing to me.

Sleep. That is my favorite way to relax. Though winding down by watching tv is also a good option. Then maybe I just might sleep while watching. I just sleep a lot to recharge myself thats all.LOL I can sleep at least 10 hours a day. But of course I might have engagements to attend to on a regular day so I can catch up to my sleep over the weekend.
Aside from sleep, eating while watching tv is also nice. Id be reclining on a sofa or something while eating a snack and that's while watching tv.^_^ Now, that would be as relaxing as it could get.

Some quite moments with a cup of hot coffee would do just great for me. The most important thing to me to de-stress is a hot cup of coffee and some quite moments or I could just watch some of my favorite shows while enjoying that cup of hot coffee.

I use to go to a place where there is no human disturbance and where nature exhibits its beauty. Then site down. close my eyes and take a deep breathe. It's really heaven!

Running totally gets me out there and out of my brain! My job is not physically stressful - but requires a lot of thinking and awareness. When i'm running- i'm just right there - concentrating on my breathing, on my surrounding (making sure I don't trip and eat it), it's just about me with no pressure to think.
I doubt that it'll be a trend setter because I"m fairly certain it's already a trend for the runner I know. It's not easy - but it's fun. You learn so much about who you are when you're running - at least for me.

Running - that's actually true. But i have never tried it.
I do understand that the air and the people outside can make you feel really good after a stressful day.
Have you noticed how people behave in different ways at public places like park, railway station, temples, etc., it is really funny to watch how people act and react and it is a real good way to release stress :)

Hey Divkris,
My motto of relaxing is "SLEEP"....whenever i feel like there is nothing for me to be done i would love going to sleep.
I remember that while i was in college or school how much i used to sleep.
But now since i have started working i miss those "SLEEP DAYS"...LOL
Apart from that as you have said, i like watching TV as weel.
I love to watch cartoons as most of the times the serials on TV are so boring that i really get bored up.My favorite cartoon show is "tom & jerry".....so thats how i relax....Nothing very special here
Regards,
Vaibhav

To relax away stress, I love to read or listen to music. Meditation or a good movie also works well, or a chat with a loved one. My favorite of all, though, is being outdoors. I find nature very soothing, very healing.

I can do many things to relax: take a good warm shower, wear comfort clothes, sit down in a comfort sofa/couch, watch a movie that I really like, read any books that interests me, listen to some music that I like or even take a nap. Also i can go to the bedroom, and take a good siesta, drinking something I like. Finally to just relax and have a long sleep.
