Out of all the computers you have owned, which one has survived the longest? Was it a Mac, PC, or other? My longest surviving computer is a PC that lasted about 6 years. I want to know your response so we all can make better computer choices in the future.

I only own a computer that runs windows. I want to have a mac but I cannot afford it. The computer I have right now is the only computer that I possess. I got this in the year 2005. Basically, my computer is still four years old. I am hoping this will last longer since I don't have much money to buy a new one.

My notebook is alive about 9 years and half and he's still here and fight with us!!!Yes it is true that is really aged my poor computer but the hardware was good when i bought it i modified some hardware and now he's still here really good!!Surely have sometimes some troubles but not so hard so i solve them without problems...I thought to buy a new one but i think this will happen from 1 year or more so he will stay here and survive yet!!

Ok, I had to get up and look. In my daughter's bedroom is an old Micron that I bought from the college where I used to work when they were selling off older models. This computer is approximately 10 years old. Since I've had it I've upgraded it some...bigger hard drive, better graphics card, additional RAM...but it still has the same small monitor. I think that's a different keyboard, too.

our computer is also 6 years now. well, we made some upgrades but still its working. the life of the computer is depending on the person who is using it. handle it with care. :)

PC- but since I sort of know how to upgrade the hardware, I upgrade every two or three years depending on what needs upgrading. And typically, when I upgrade - I buy the top of the line (video card, motherboard, etc). That way it will last longer.
I think the survival of one's computer is based on the person and how much they take care of it. It's important to clean it out once in a while - and do the necessary upgrades to keep it going.
