For sure we have our own language. But we sometimes our language is not enough to survive in this very competitive world. And because of that many of us opt to learn another language that will give us edge over other individuals. And yes it very useful.
But what language is the hardest to learn?

I think the Chinese language is quite difficult to learn. Aside from the difficulty of pronouncing, it is also difficult to read. Unlike other languages that are usually represented by alphabetical letters, theirs is more of characters. Well, I guess, if we put our heart to it, it would be easier but obviously it would really take time and a lot of effort in learning Chinese.

I think the difficult language to learn are Chinese, French and German. Chinese is difficult because of the pronunciation and the meaning of the word gonna change if you don't know how to pronounce it properly. French is also difficult because of the different pronunciation of the word and the spelling. It is very complex to learn it.

hi CMTS!
well, i think for me that would be chinese and french. i love the french. i think their language is so exquisite and their ways are so classic and timeless. but it is so hard because you don't pronounce the words as you read it, unlike most of the words of the english language.
and then there is chinese. a one-syllable word can be pronounced or accentuated like 6 times and all can mean different things. i am trying to learn because i married a chinese and i would also like to take part in their conversations, even if i don't speak, at least i would understand what they are trying to say. i can grasp some of the things that they are talking about, but well, of course, not everything.
i am filipino by the way. so my main language is ilonggo, then tagalog, then english.
take care and God bless you!
happy mylotting! :D

I think all languages other than what we usually use are all hard to learn. But if we really make an effort to really learn it I guess we will be able to do it. The hardest language for me anyway is Russian? We'll I just made a guess..lol. I don't even know a single word from them.

I know English, French, Hindi and now I am learning Chinese which I thought it was very difficult but once I started to have friends who decided to help me I found chinese language less difficult. I got friends here in mylot who is teaching me Chinese just as friends who taught me Hindi. So I am quite lucky to have them as friends.
The next language which I want to learn is German and I heard that this one is really difficult.

As an alien, i find at hard to learn the different main languages all over the world. All of them has its own differences as to how it is pronounced, how is it accented, and how the word is used. it is indeed super complicated and difficult to learn, especially if the learner has complete zero background.
But for me, Chinese is the hardest. It is the second most spoken language next to English, and it is possible that in the future, it could be the next language to be used in international dealings, especially in business (Chinese men are known to be business men, no?). With all the strange calligraphy and CH's, i would probably die by learning it.

i always use to think that the hardest langauges to learn are that one from Asia!!This normally can be really personal because it depends from which country you come from and so which are your attitudes or habits during your life too as we refer to languages!!So seing that i live and come from wstern europe i think languages as Chinese,Japanese,Arabic,Korean,an so on are really hard to learn and speak!!

i think Russian or danish has definitely got to be the hardest. with the different variations and gender words you have to add the way its written and how its read its simply amazing if you know it. and the writing look so complicated and the wrong notation definitely means something else. Italian can be quite challenging too if you can't pronounce certain words. i am fluent in English Chinese Malay french german and korean. and i really want to pursue Russian but i think it might just be too much for me. haha anyways enjoyed your discussion. bye.

For me, the hardest language to learn is Korean. Korean because the pronunciations are just simply, complicated! I'm not trying to offend anyone here, but I think it's really hard to learn I watch Boys Over Flowers and I noticed that the spellings of the words they speak are kinda tongue-twisting. I think Chinese is hard to learn to but so far, I don't find the words' pronunciations complicated. I'm quite familiar with Chinese Mandarin because I love their language and their culture. I used to watch Chinese Paladin and I loved their language and culture in an instant
