Can Ipod software be reloaded?

I had this problem too I tried reinstalling Itunes from the beginning but I know that if you keep reloading it and playing around eventually you can get Itunes to work normally again. If you backup all the data onto a spare folder that also helps I found too, so if it happens again you can just reload it back up just as easily.
