The human touch is an important part of human life I believe. A gentle touch can be healing and soothing. I love using my hands it seems as if they almost do have a healing power to them. Do you think that your hands can have a healing affect on people and if so why? I think that we all need a human touch in our lives. Even if it is just holding hands or sitting close to one another we all love to be touched in some fashion physically.

children grow close to their parents when the bonding is full of touching and love. headache is cured with a little massage on the forehead, a sprain will not swell so much with a knowledgeable massage, loneliness can be cured with a hug and some soothing words, self esteem can stay on a person with just a touch on the hand... i am sure human touch can be healing.

Yes, I believe it too! A touch can change lives. It is a gift of life we are capable to make people feel the importance of living and be loved. I believe that my hands and any other people's hands has a healing effect on people especially to the people they care about. It is a way of expressing love, comforting the soul, easing the pain and sharing the gladness in our hearts. A touch is so powerful that I think life and love wouldn't be complete with out it. :-) We all loved to be touched!

Some people say that it is and I'm inclined to believe that this is definitely the case. There's talk that we are all surrounded by energy and that we all have the potential to have healing hands. I have never tried this so I don't really know if this applies to me or not. I have certainly read several books on the subject though and they make very positive reading. I guess having healing hands is something that I would probably aspire to, I would want this to happen to me. Well, I live alone and I don't have anyone to experiement on really. Andrew

the human touch is definately healing. so often we're feeling down in the dumps and someone comes along and offers us a reassuring touch or a hug. such are often more effective than a hug. at times i might not kno wat's bothering a person but i figure the least i could do was to give them a hug and it usually works.

I am not certain that it heals but I believe that it definitely soothes and shows support. A touch on the shoulder, an arm through yours or a warm hug. They make you feel better - I think because they make you feel loved. I believe there are studies that show that children that are raised in a more loving home where hugs and kisses are given out and people say I love you to each other are more well rounded and have less issues. When you are not raised around love you have to try to learn to love later in life.

Thanks for your response. I do believe it is healing and it also makes a person heal faster. If a person feels that you care and are loving by touching and massaging then if they are sick or have been in the hospital they heal faster. I have observed this first hand. The healing is much faster I believe than without it. I am sure you are right about children who are loved with hugs and kisses than those who are not I am sure there is a huge difference. Hopefully the children at home who do not get this there is someone in the family who does hug and kiss to make them feel loved, secure and cared about!

Yes, I believe that too. The human touch is something that helps and heals, it brings us closer to people. Do you know about the character Rogue in XMen? Her mutation was she could borrow any power by touching others, but if she touched them for too long, she could kill them. That way, she couldn't touch others long enough to have a kiss, an embrace or even a simple handshake. Her powers led to her depression and her desire to get rid of her abilities. Just sharing. :)
