I did a search and nothing came up so I thought I would start a discussion on which do you prefer....being paid from a site by a check, or by paypal??
they both have there pros and cons and I have a couple sites that I am steady with and they either pay by paypal only or some of them are by check only... to me they are both money and when I get the money built up in my paypal account I then request a check so I eventually always get a check.... ahhh that piece of paper that is "pay to order" to my name..... I love that!!! so for me I love the checks.
what about you...which do you prefer...paypal or check and why??

Check. Because I don't have a paypal account lol. And I'd imagine it's more satisfactory to recieve a check with a buncha money written on it.

I have received from both and I enjoy both ways... when I get enough in my paypal account then I request a check and that works out for me.
thanks for the response and happy mylotting.

I like to be paid by Paypal if it is at all possible. It is quicker to receive it and I get invest it online immediately. Depositing a check is too much of a hassle, and then getting the money from my bank to my paypal account is even worse. With Paypal I can spend online and withdraw to my bank account at any time anyways.

Paypal all the way I think.
I can't stand the waiting for the clearing time when someone pays by cheque...and admittedly I forget to check if it has cleared and in the case of ebay transactions forget to post the item because the whole thing has taken so long!

I prefer Paypal, seeing as most online earning sites pay in US dollars, if I were to receive such money through a check, it would be difficult to encash it or even deposit it without opening a dollar account with a local bank. Whereas with Paypal, I could easily withdraw money to my bank account and, in the process of transferring funds, Paypal already converts the money to our local currency. So yes, I do prefer getting paid through Paypal. Foreign checks are quite a hassle.

I prefer a check because it is easier for me to show people my earnings. Screenshots in paypal are not as easy to convince people they are real. I like hard copies like that.
I am always cautious with electronic funds, in some cases you have no choice but to go with paypal. I will leave very little in my account, because of the danger of hackers, and because paypal notoriously freezes accounts.
Even though the programs I am in don't violate paypal's terms, I am very careful with it.

I think you make some very good points with that... I have sites that pay either through paypal..or by check... either way is good for me and plus when it goes into paypal, once a month I request a check from them. You are right it is easier to show people a check, and paypal is a very good site to get a check from.
thanks for the response and happy mylotting...and happy earning!!

I've never been paid by a site by check... In fact, I never cashed in a check of any kind...
If I come to think of it, a check comes in handy, as I can actually cash it in. When I receive money via PayPal, I can't cash it in, because I don't have an accepted credit card for that, so I must find other ways of spending that money online (I've recently bought my first item on eBay, and I'm really happy of it - picture attached).

wow, that is great you got your first item!!! congrats to you on that!! I have cashed out from paypal twice to a check both times and cashed them and as a mom, got things for the house/kids and was happy to have the money for that.
Keep earning and happy mylotting.

Nomrally i like more to be paid by paypal/alertpay and payment processor online than by check i found it more fast and secure see that the check needs much time to arrive and it can be lost so..or even the EFT ,electronic found transfer,i found good and suitable for payments they are very fast and secure and money you cna receive in few time available!!Ok if some society will pay you just with checks and there are not possibilities for other systems i will wait for my check bu normally i like more other methods!!

I have always chosen being paid by paypal eversince. And when I request my payment from paypal, I simply choose withdraw and have it transferred to my bank account. So in my case, it is more convenient. I think there is no problem with choosing payment by check. After all, all of them are payment. The important thing is we receive our payment right. Some people may find it convenient to paid by check and some may like it by paypal. It all depends on what is more convenient and safe. Best to you!

I will love to be paid by Paypal. Over here, even if I receive a check, I will need to pay some fees in order to be able to get the cash. I rather got paid by Paypal, where all the amounts from different sources can be consolidated, and then transfer to my bank account for a small fee.

oh yeah, it wouldnt be worth it to have to pay fees on a check unless you are getting a large amount. You have to choose what works best for you.
Happy mylotting and have a great day!

Yes I do agree with you. It's not worth it to pay the fees for a small check. Besides, it's also troublesome to line up in the bank just to cash in the check. I rather pay a small amount of admin fee (which is only $1) to Paypal for them to transfer the money to my bank directly. It also saves me the time and hassle of having to go to the bank too...

Hello,
I will have to say I rather be paid by Pay Pal, because you know the money is there, and you have less worries about rather or not a check is going to bounce or not. I have a Pay Pal check card and I use it like a cash card, if I wanted to get the money off my card from a ATM I will be charged three dollars from Pay Pal, so I try to avaoid going to the ATM with my Pay Pal check card, besides I will spend my money anyway so what difference does it make to get the money out at a ATM, or use the money right off the card, atleat I'm not charged no additional fees when I just use my Pay Pal check card like a cash card. So with all that being said , I wish that all companies paid via Pay Pal and not check.
Happy My Lotting!

No, if you have a paypal card then that is awesome and works out great for you... if I had that I would only want paypal too!! and if they charge that much for an ATM I would only use it as a cash card too. Good for you!!
thanks for the response and happy mylotting.!

I would prefer to be paid by paypal if the payment made is in USD since i would not need to go through a hard process to cashout the cheque. Where else if it is my local currency then i would prefer to be paid by cheque. Having cheque sometimes make me feel proud because it is mainly for me and no one else can do anything with it other than me..

I actually prefer a check. However, I know that checks get lost in the mail very easily. Also, there is that possibility of them getting stolen. I feel like paypal is probably the safest method. I also think direct deposit is a safe method. That's the way I get my SSI check. Kathy.

i prefer being paid by paypal, as i dont know how international checks works. and i think it will take time before i get hold of the check. while at paypal, once i get paid by a site, and i have the certain amount i like to withdraw, i can withdraw it right away and transfer in my local bank account, and just wait 2-3 days. i have done it so i am comfortable with paypal.
