I don't care what they say, NO ONE tells the truth all the time, they'd be strangled if they did!
People say, oh you shouldn't lie, Why shouldn't you lie?
I don't mean major things
Just the little stuff
If the truth won't do you any favours, why should you tell it?
If you're not hurting anyone, whats the problem?
When was the last time you told a lie?
What was it?

Lying.......
Hey there, I don't agree with you, I don't believe that all people lie. I believe that there are a lot of people out here that are trying to live a good and honest life. If it's something small they might not tell the full truth but but it's one thing to do something and then to outright lie about it, it's another thing if you aren't be perfectly honest because you are trying to cover cover for someone else. For example when a friend call and you don't feel like talking to them, do you pick up the phone and say, I don't feel like talking or do you just let the phone ring? Me I would just let the phone ring because I didn't feel like talking to them at the time they called. Does this mean that I'm lying to them or not, you decide?

They never ask. Usually when Someone call me or if I call them and I don't get an answer I figure they are not at home. Or maybe they are busy and can't come to the phone. Thank God for caller I.D. We have to learn how to make technology work in our favor!

Lying is good if it protects someone's feelings, in most cases. I say in most cases, because if it only protects their feelings for a moment, then it isn't good. Telling them that what they're wearing looks good will make them feel good for a while, but eventually someone's gonna laugh.
Whatever saves the most embarrassment or pain is the best option. It's bad to be selfish, and avoid being honest just for the sake of your own comfort at someone elses expense.
The last thing I lied about was the price of a coffee maker. It was $100, and my step-dad would flip if he knew. It's my money, though. He thinks I got a cheap coffee maker, I have a really sexy coffee maker, we're all happy people.

I LOVE this discussion. Now, that's a lie and had to through the LOVE in there for sh1ts and giggles...lol. I agree, everyone tells a 'white' lie upon occasion,, but a lie is a lie, right? Prime time to look for lies is at gift giving times, going to dinner at the inlaws, and of course when some one asks you out who you don't want to see (at least we've gotten more creative than the old 'washing my hair' lie).
When is the last time I lied? Probably at Christmas when my husband bought cologne. It reeked! I like herbal/spicy...he likes sweet/flowery. I wear it when we're going somewhere that I know it will be overwhelmed by something else...like the smell of burning rubber at the races.
What was you're last lie?

Even if I told you, how would you know I was telling the truth

People lie all the time, I see no problem with little white lies. If you go over to a friend's place to see the new paint in the living room that they've been raving about and it turns out to be the ugliest shade of avocado green you've ever seen chances are you'll still say you love it. Lies like that are fine, it's the big ones that are a problem. I know one person, they used to be a friend, who is practically incapable of telling the truth. Almost everything out of his mouth is a blatant lie and it's to the point where he doesn't even realize he's doing it. Once lies start taking over and hurting people then it's game over for me in terms of friendship.
