Hi icesmile...Yup, I talk to my computer all the time! I talk nice when it works good and I threaten to throw it out the window when it doesnt
But the day it answers me back, I will throw it out the window for sure!

HI, when I start to read your message it make me just want to laugh... Yes, I do that sometimes and sometimes I just want to kick it too. but right now, I have a brand new laptop and it works pretty good so far. I think it might does the same thing once it comes to a year old again. I used to talk and scream and talk bad word to it, since like it respond back to me when I kicked .... it is so funny, huh? but that what we do to make your day work

I swear at my computer a lot, and sometimes when a page is particularly slow to load I'll say "please, please, please" or "hurry up!!!" My husband also talks to his computer a lot. I don't know of any computer user that doesn't do this. it's the same with people when they are driving their cars. My mother and step-dad do not use computers, but I hear them cursing at the traffic a lot. LOL

I think that you are spot on here, the only verbal communiction necessary to have with an object is to swear at it, I also find myself doing this in the car situation in a manner which prevents me descending into road rage which could become an unpleasant situation, much easier to curse quietly in the car than and avoid actual confrontation with those on the roads who do not know how to drive.

I can't say I carry on a conversation with my computer. Usually one good "You POS" works and I'm done. My husband is one that likes to really lay into it and call it all sorts of ugly names and tell the computer he doesn't like it, it's funny sometimes to listen from another room when my husband is on a vent at the computer. Thankfully, the computer has never responded but I figure with in a few years they will have one out that will talk to you, and it will be sorta like a parrot, it will repeat what it hears, and lord help my household them, because then it may just start blurting out things while we have company, lol...

Hello icesmile, absolutely I give no pet names to my computer as it is an object and a particular objectional object at that, never doing what is required of it in a timely fashion, but absolutely I have never been tempted to chat with it, I think if one was tempted to chat to the computer one is in need of getting out more and perhaps trying to speak to a person who has the capability of communicating.

Icesmile .. I Am As Good Or Bad As Thea .. I Can Surely Not Give Any Pet Names To My Computer . Yes . Even I Feel Talking to a Computer Has No Meaning At all As It's Going to be One Way .. It Doesn't Feel Like Talking To A Person For Sure ..

Most of the times, my computer shutdown itself for no reason while I'm in the middle of my download, chat and research. I hate it so much, all my works are gone and some of it I can't retrieve. "you stupid junk" I hate you:)

Computers are really a great machine. They were second to none.
But if they start to act badly like having contaminated by all
those nasty viruses then situation are not good at all. I do talk
with my computer once in a while. That's no big deal.

I only tend to talk to my computer, or a game itself when i'm generally angry with it. When you tend to want to fist the screen or throw a disk at the wall, etc.

Morning awcase, I see that you have developed the rather strange habit of speaking to the inanimate object which is your computer, I'd love to discuss this trend further with you and ask if you talk to other inanimate things too, such as your kettle, vacuumn cleaner, televsion, bedside lamp or cooker. I eagerly await your response so we can have a nice discussion together about these things.

I have to admit that I do talk to my computer all the time when I am at work! I work in a hospital in admissions and if my computer is not working properly it slows down the process of admitting patients. I not only talk to my computer but I talk to myself as well! I think the older I get the more I talk to myself and my computer. Even when I am typing to responses on here I make all kinds of facial expressions. Maybe it is because we are dramtic people or maybe it is because we are creative. Probably most people do the same thing as we do!

I'm usually grumbling at my computer. I like it when it works and does what I want it to do, but usually I am yelling at it. It doesn't fix the problem, though. Today it took me two hours to upload an article. I was grumbling and swearing a little, too. I have Vista, so I'm not used to how things work on my computer. I'm used to XP. It took me about fifteen minutes to figure out how to create a new folder in my documents folder. Lately my computer has been more of a frustration than a convenient tool. I wish I had an assistant. I could spend all my time writing, and my assistant can worry about all the technical aspects. My cats would be a lot happier, too. I get pretty scary when I have computer issues.

I swear at it the odd time when it does not work right, but I would no more talk to it when it does a good job than when my refrigerator does a good job. My cat and dog I will talk to because at least they respond, although I realize they probably do not know what I am saying, my cat is figuring a way of eating me and my dog is waiting for something to eat. That reminds me, it is supper time and I need something to eat. Hello stove, how are you? Cook me a nice meal please. No it does not work talking to them.
