Funny, well all sleep with a TV on here. It's the sound factor. Shouldn't do it but I can't sleep with out it. My son sleeps in his room with his on, my husband and I with ours on in our room, and my little girl either in the living room, or our room. We also have to have a fan going, for the sound too.. I am not much on any other lights being on other than the light from the TV.

Hello icesmile, I like to sleep in a dark room. I usually switch off all the lights and close the door. I can't sleep with the light on and so does my husband. My toddler always play around if I don't switch off the light and to make him really sleeps, I have to let him be in a dark. Maybe he is just afraid of the dark and he will sleep easily when he sees nothing that interests him.

my wife likes sleeping in the dark. she is used to that already. i cant sleep in the dark and i am used to lighst on. so when we started living together we decided to put a little light form a lamp shade. so its not that dark and not that eye hurting light. now that we have a baby we need the lights more for our son sleeps with us in our room. he is now three years old and we can sleep with the lamp on. he is not as helpless when he was just a baby.

I usually sleep with the lights off and tv off in my bedroom. But when I sleep in the receiving area I turn on the tv on and turn the timer on so that it will automatically shut off. My phone is usually beside me when I sleep so that I can hear it when someone text me or call.

In the night, when I sleep, I have to have it completely dark, so I do not keep the tv or lights on.

Hi there icesmile! I sometimes leave my TV on (while on sleep function). Sometimes I doze off even before turning off the TV. I rarely turn my lamp on. However, I sometimes doze off even before turning off the lights. But I really prefer that the room is dark so I can sleep well.

I don't like sleeping in pitch black, either, but I feel wasteful to leave something on all night, so I usually leave my door partially open to get some light from the night light in the bathroom.

My hubby sleeps with the tv on & it drives me nuts. For whatever reason @ about midnight I can hear it and I have to get up to turn it off. I prefer if it's gotta be on to use the timer on the tv that way it doesn't bother me. We also have our hall light on in the middle of the night as the kids are scared of the dark & so we don't trip over toys if we need to tend to them at night.

Hi snuggle bunnies, you really should get those children of yours to clear up their toys before bed then you don't risk falling over them in the dark. I don't know how you can sleep with your husbands television on, that would drive me insane if I had to put up with that at bed time not that I ever would put up with it in the first place

Hi icesmile, I couldn't possibly contemplate sleeping with a television on and don't keep one in the bedroom to start with, however I do like to sleep with a lamp on as if I move enough to try and turn it off hit would only wake me up again but I don't need the lamp to answer the telephone in the night as if it rang i would ignore it.

I always keep the light on when I sleep at night. I'm not afraid of ghosts, I just don't like insects and other pests to crawl on me because they usually come out when it's really dark.

Well in my room I like to keep it dark when I sleep coz usually I have an idea of where the things are and how can I get to the washroom and everywhere but when I sleep somewhere else I sometimes like a little lamp on, but I don't like it mostly and turn that off soon. Well i don't like to leep watching television untill I fall asleep. The sound turned on when i sleep?? never.

I myself don't really need any light nor sound from the TV to sleep. However if we are talking about habits before sleeping or what not. I do keep the light of the bathroom on for safety reasons. Its just so dark out there to be able to wake up in the middle of the night and now know where you are walking or stepping. So its definitely a safety issue for me. As for sound, I don't need the TV cause I hardly could sleep with it on, however I sleep with my air conditioner on whether its cold or hot. I like the noise and it keeps me at peace when sleeping so I definitely do that instead of keeping the TV on at night. Its weird having certain habits at night but that's how live rolls lol.

I don't mind the darkness at all, rather it's the silence that I can't stand. If I leave the TV on I can sleep just fine with the light, or I will turn it off and sleep in darkness. If I don't have the TV on, I will listen to the radio. I have to have something on in the background at night.

Hi! I can't sleep with lights on or TV on, but I know what you mean when going to the bathroom because it's hard to find the way when it's too dark and I've been through that situation before, lol. Thankfully the apartment we are now is getting some light through the window from outside.

Unlike you, I slept with the lights off. Otherwise I can't sleep at all. But I get a bit uneasy if I went for a biz trip that requires me to sleep in a hotel. So in order for me to get some sleep (and always not a good sleep), I will turn on the lights but not the one on top of the bed and of course the TV. I guess I'm a bit scared sleeping in a not familiar place.

No, we turn off anything that generates light or sounds when we go to sleep. In fact, I can't fall asleep at night if the light is on. I need an absolutely quite and dark environment to actually fall asleep. The interesting thing is that I can sleep for 20 minutes during lunch hour where of course the environment is not controllable and there are sorts of lights and sounds. Still, I usually can take a nap. But for the night, I just can't do it.

I sleep in the dark. Like that I feel more relaxed and can fall asleep faster. Funny thing is that I keep my heater on just for the noise factor, even if it is hot. I tried sleeping without it before and I found it quite hard. I wasn't used to the complete silence.
