Experiences of Hitting Rock Bottom...

I hit rock bottom with the death of my father, then my brother, then my mother. I was so depressed with the 3 deaths of loved ones, but more so with the death of my father. Aside from it being the first death in the family, I was also blamed by my two older siblings for his death for reasons which were not clear to me. Of course, it was too painful I thought I'd lost my sanity. Good thing my husband and friends stood by me, prayed over, and gave encouraging words. That was a rock bottom experience, which I thought would have killed me of heart ache and hurt and too much pain. Of course, when we were financially down when my husband was out of job for almost 8 months, I thought I'd lose my sanity, too. I was the only one earning and trying to make both ends meet was close to impossible. Happily we survived the challenge, and we're very much okay now financially. Looking back at those two experiences, I have learned life's lessons--to save for some rainy days, to pray for guidance, that communication is key, and that family members and friends are there to stand by me when the going gets rough. Those two really had a "steeling" effect on me. I have learned to cope with problems as they come. What about you my friends? Any similar experiences and lessons learned? Your sharing would also be an inspiration to me and to friends here....

I am sorry for your loss but that you survived the challenge and that make you a better you. Life is full of challenges and that we learnt by experiencing all the down time so that we are more prepared for the yet to come.
I have faced my down time when I was just graduated from college and had to hunt for job for half a year until a job with low payroll offer appeared. By that time, I know things just don't go as planned and don't always go smoothly to our advantages. There are challenges. We are tested every now and then and it is thus important we don't give up. The more challenges and downtime we went through, the more well prepared we get and the better we do next time some unexpected happens.

No, I have not gone thru deaths of loved ones yet but the financial part...yes, I have gone thru it many times with my husband's job. We now joke about it and say his career is a rollercoaster ride...full of ups and downs. When he is earning well, we always put a substantial amount in the bank for rainy days...you know how the private sector job is...no guarantee of a permanent job.
Its very encouraging to know how you have overcome the mental stress and emerged stronger from it.
