Do you give tips?

When you go to salon/parlor and you are satisfied with your haircut, do you give tips? Or when you eat in a restaurant and enjoyed the excellent service, do you give extra money to the waiter or service staff. Well, to be honest, I am not used to giving tips. I have this feeling that when I pay for a service, that’s enough especially because prices can be expensive most pf the time. But on second thought, maybe giving a little tip will give some benefit after all. So next time, I will allot little money for the tip.

Servers in a restaurant make only a few dollars an hour because it is assumed they will be getting tips. When my son was in college he was a waiter for a short time and got $2 an hour, could you live on that? I do not think so.I never tip less than 15%, and most often 20%.

I've always done this with waitresses/waitors, even if the food is late, because it's technically not their fault that the food took forever, just as long as they kept being nice, refilling our drinks, it was all good. As for the haircuts tipping? Didn't know about that until last year! I felt so rude for not tipping them, I just never realized it was an option. So the next time I saw my usual attendee, I left 20 bucks for a tip, also explaining that I had no clue about the tipping. She laughed at me and said I was adorable lol.

my point on giving a tip, is all in how good my service was on where i went. such as, if we go out to eat, we usually try to do 15-20%. if the waitress attended to us enuff and didn't over do it and bother us, if he/she was nice, payed any attention to my son, etc, then i go with a higher tip. but if you didn't do a good job, then i usually only leave like 2 bucks or something instead of 5. if we leave a mess, or something than yeah, i tend to tip a little bit more, cuz i feel bad. i work in a hotel, and, to my staff, tips are important, esp making minimum wage, adn the fact that well, people don't exactly always keep a clean room. my point is, if you are gonna be dirty and messy, leave a good tip. that goes for anywhere that someone provides you some kind of service. i think it is nice to always tip though, even if it's only a dollar and thats all that you have. i feel bad when i go out once in a while and DONT have the extra money to tip. it always makes that persons day to realize that they did a good enough job that you can't tip them the best you can. im sure that they understand that everyone is going through a hard time with the economy and money. i never really payed too much attention to tips until i started working at a hotel, and then it all became part of my life to just tip wherever i go.

In certain cases it is common to tip for service. In these situations you often judge how much you will tip by the quality of the service. Many people try to give you excellent service and understand that it makes people feel good when they do and often leads to a better tip. When I tip it's based on the service and I will tip higher for better service.

I try to be a good tipper since I feel that those people are doing a service for me and if the service is good, I want them to know that I think that I think that service is good and that I appreciate that good service. I also think that it might make them realize that they are doing a good job and they will continue to give it. There is nothing wrong with rewarding good behavior just as we say please and thank you.

I always go to my favorite barber every time I want a haircut. All the time, I always give an extra to the normal rate they charge for the haircut. I have been accustomed to giving the barber a tip and in doing so, I have noticed that I am always given better service and attention.

Yes i give tips in the parlor when i get my hair cut.It will make the barber happy.WHen i go to hotels to eat.Though the rates are high i will leave some money back to the waiter. He will be happily smiling at me.Yes because of expensive rates we cannot give tips.If the barber doesn't cut my hair properly.I just pay the money and walk out.

Yes, I tip in both instances. In the hair salons I've used the shampoo girl doesn't earn a good wage and the stylist has to pay the owner for her station out of her earnings so tipping helps. Waiters and waitresses don't earn much either and depend on tips even more. I believe that anyone who performs a personal service, and who provides excellent service, should be rewarded for their efforts which is why I'll leave a 20% tip for great service in a restaurant and 15% for basic good service. Poor service gets you 5% or 10% but, if you really stink and have a bad attitude, you're not getting so much as a dime.

Yeah I do that only if I see a lot of effort has given to me as extra part of the services. But as a common people, I do give some just for the luck I guess.

It depends on the situation. If I enjoyed the service given to me, and if I find the person nice, I do give tips. I give enough tips most especially if I have enough money, because I think that these people also need the extra income, that is why they are doing their best in their jobs. Or at times, if I can't give enough tip, I just say thank you.

Like you do I sometimes give tips on restaurants and other servicing establishment. But most of the restaurant we have have already service charge on the bill and the prices are too high so I dont give tips at all. If the food is good and the price is low then I give tips.

I do give a tip but only when I'm satisfied with the service even though the product or food is not that good atleast the service is great. Besides the tip is really for them.
