My favorite children book chandamama which comes in several languages including English. It has a collection of short stories and moral stories for children written in simple and lucid style. Each story is laden with moral values of how to lead a life and how not to lead etc.

Well, I ain't that much into book-reading, but I did enjoy local comics in my younger days. Out of the lot, my favorite was Tinkle (In fact I still read it sometimes!) You must have heard about it. I love it since it has a great variety of interesting fables. (the Tinkle digest) Moreover, it carried great humor with it, with the likes of Suppandi, Ramu-Shamu, Tantri the Mantri, Shikari Shambhu and so on. I'll highly recommend it for Indian toddlers. It's definitely an entertainment package!

When I was a child I loved the books by Astrid Lindgren and the fairy tales by Hans Christian Andersen and the Grimm brothers. I always asked my parents and my grandmother read them aloud to me, and when I got a bit older I started reading them myself. Another author that I really liked was a Dane called Hjoerdis Varmer. She has written many books and in her books she often described life in the old days. I loved reading about the past, and it was a great way to learn something. Her books were interesting and entertaining at the same time.

My favorite children's book is called Miss Renees Mice. The reason that it is my favorite is that it was written by My sister - in law. It tells about the adventures of some mice who are living in a ladies house and the things that they go through. It is really a cute little book. I don't know if it is available everywhere though.
I think you can get it on Amazon.

My Absolute favorite childhood book was Bridge to Teribithia. I was really worried when the came out with the movie not long ago. I just knew they were going to screw up my childhood favorite. I was really suprised that they did a good job.
As a kid I was really into mysteries. I still am really. but I absolutely loved the Nancy Drew series, the Hardy Boys series, and the Trixe Beldon series.
