i am doing a Midnight Memories Walk this coming Saturday to raise money for the local hospice along with my sister and some work colleagues and friends.
We are doing this walk in memory of some truly fantastic people who we have lost to cancer, we are also walking in support of friends who are living with this illness!
Anyone who wishes to offer their support then please check out the 'my website'link on my profile.
What I am asking you guys and Gals is....what do you do for charity and what are your reasons for doing them!!!
hugs
Jessica

Hi Jessica, I think this is a wonderful thing that all you guys are doing and wish you the best of luck with it and I hope you manage to raise your goal. I do many things for various different charities from donating monthly by direct debit to making one of payments to sponsor people, giving my time to volunteer in a local shop, which I haven't done for a while to donating unwanted items to the shops. Cancer affects everyone at some stage by either them having it or knowingsomeone that has it so this is a great cause you are supporting and it is for your local hopsital too. I support the RNLI and the Devon Air Ambulance for this reason also as I live in such a coastal and rural area you never know when you may need their services. Huggles. Ellie :D

Thanks Ellie,
I lost my grandma and cousin to cancer aswell as a couple of friends, like you say, cancer affects us all one way or another and places like the hospice make dealing with the illness that bit easier.
I just want to do all I can to show my gratitude to them.....I just hope I can manage to do the walk as my health isnt great at the minute!!!
hugs
Jessica

Well you did the walk and you did fantastic!! even though your suffering for it now.
Got a letter this morning they estimate £194,245 was the amount pledged so hopefully everyone will pay and they will have all that money for next year. It's like £17,245 more than last year thats not bad at all concidering it's only been going 3 years eh!
You know me anything for charity theres always someone worse off than you are! done walks, fancy dress, bath of beans, collecting with buckets, designed & wrapped chocolates/tshirts/posters pretty much anything suggested. Would have loved to do the bungee jump or parachute jump but doc wouldn't let me did absail though that was cool (before i got ill!).
I think whats truely amazing is when people come together despite all their difficulties/differences to give their time and energy for something that isn't going to necessarily benefit them (directly). Theres always reasons for doing it and when you really believe in the cause and go that extra mile it really shows your true colours and worth as a human being.
I'm hoping to walk next year but if not i'll volunteer again i enjoyed it well worth the pain so well done you!! and when i get my camera back i'll upload a pic just for embarressment purposes of us in those lovely (wee smelling) wigs lmao
