It takes several hours extra for a passenger train to reach the destination which is normally reached earlier by the super fast train. But I traveled in that train only once. Did you ever travel by a passenger train?

Some trains in Eastern Europe can be slow and in Western Europe there are faster trains that are far more expensive to travel on. Years ago Germany had a weekend travel ticket that I used to buy some weekends when I was living in the Netherlands. It was only possible, with it, to travel on the slower trains. It was really enjoyable and a cheap way to travel. A long journey by train, across Germany, involved many changes. I traveled in Romania and Bulgaria on some slow trains and the scenery out of the window was stunning. By train is my favorite way to travel, slow or fast are both enjoyable, I feel.

its an awesome experience.I am residing nearly 1500 kms from Mumbai,India.my relatives are there.During my last visit,I have enjoyed the travel with my brother.we both took a chess board.Moving out with our family members is a nice experience.Even words cant express that my friend. But an important thing to note here is ,we can enjoy the travel if somebody accompanies us.if we are alone, its really boring. So,try to have a pair while going for a long journey.

A very long time ago I took the train from Washington, D.C. to Chicago and I had a great time. I met a girl who was around my age, who was visiting from Australia and we talked for hours. We ate in the club car, met some other nice people and hung out there for hours, too. It did take a lot longer to take the train but it was a wonderful experience that I would have missed out on if I had flown.

well i have traveled by passenger or what we call local trains here where you do not get reservations for seats, the experience is just very gruesome but as there are not much other option i have to take them. Though it is easier for ladies as we have a reserved coaches for us

yes I have traveled by a passenger train. I had to travel 600 kms by passenger train as no other train was available and I had to take that train as my father was hospitalized and I had to reach hospital by hook or by crook.
