Why I don't need religion for being a happy and good person.

Every major religion has something in common. That is their understanding of morality. If you ask me, the main aspects the religions teach (by the way, I do believe that every religion is somehow a copycat of a prior religion) are moral issues such as respect eachother, don't kill each other, don't steal and so on. Now that sounds like the list of the 10 commandment, but it's spread everywhere.
If you ask me, God (or whatever you call it) is simply a symbol for reason. Something to keep in the back of my head when I think about doing something wrong. The idea would keep me on the right track so I do not end in hell. Fear plays a big part here.
So if I act reasonable without having to fear I end in hell or heaven forever (I wouldn't want to be in any place forever), would there be any difference? I believe not. Contrary to that, if there was no religion at all, people would probably stop killing each other over the question, which is the right God and care about important problems.

That's all religion is.
This "god" everybody talks about is just and idea. A simple idea to make people think twice before they do something.

I agree most of the commandments or rules are common sense.I am religious but I don't fear G-d. I always thought that He knows that I know He knows what I will and won't do. I do break rules but I do try to be kind to all. Anyway is G-d wants tp punish me , why would I fear that?If the mere fact that I don't " accept Jesus as my personal Savior" automatically sends me to hell, then I can do whatever I want.Being " doomed" is freeing.

I agree with you 100% in all aspects of this discussion..if we all just lived a good life and with natural feelings, and i do call them natural as i don't believe we are bor with all that hatred and you arfe right a lot of the killings in this world is done in the name of religion...we don't really need them we just have to listen to out inner voice and our heart...wouldn't it be a good world to live in...
