Programming IDE vs Text editor

I have noticed lots of C++ programmers using simply the text editors to develop their projects. So this discussion is about IDE vs text editor. Which one is faster, reliable, developing high end applicaions, developing platform independent applications. Users can post their experience about IDE or text editor and kindly reply which one is better.

See, IDE ( or Integrated Development toolkit) is used for simplicity ... In big Organization You wont be given to work using Text pad because there you got to code 1000 of lines in a single day.... BUT as a beginner one should practice coding using Textpad to build up fundamental..But are Good way of coding but IDE is faster n more reliable
