To spoil, or not to spoil???

Do you love getting all the juicy behind the scenes scoops BEFORE the movie comes out, or AFTER?
In the past, I have been such a complete and total geek and gossip hound. I used to watch the trailers and previews over and over and over, studying, analyzing, memorizing, reading reviews and articles and interviews...
..and this time, I have taken a completely different approach. I haven't seen ANY of the trailers for Half Blood Prince. Not one. Not a single one. Any time a commercial comes on TV I leave the room. If my friends discuss it, I cover my ears or leave the room. I have managed to be kept basically in the dark about everything so far. I'm kind of excited about that.
I expect someone might post here with a spoiler or two... but with the movie coming up in a quick month or so I'm not too concerned anymore. :)
What about you? Are you so excited because you don't know much about what will be done, or are you thrilled because you know just about everything?

Even I am desperately waiting for its release and just like you have tried, not to hear any gossips about the movie. And I believe this excitement is worth it! The movie is not going to disappoint us!!

Yeah, here's hoping!!! So far the HP movie franchise hasn't had any enormous disappointments for me... so I really hope the last few will be well worth everything. :)

I like being surprised frankly, I only want to know how good the performances are, not plot points.

Yeah, me too. The HP movie casts are so well put together, it's nice to hear if they're continuing in the right fashion performance-wise. :)

Exactly, I loved Star Trek and was totally unspoiled, but I knew that the acting was fantastic and so when certain plot points happened it was a lovely surprise.

Hey, your first own topic . Congrats!
I like spoilers most of the time, I am a curious being so keeping myself from watching spoilers for something I am anxious about seeing is hard. I do not study them like you did in the past, but I do enjoy watching them. I can't waitte for the Half Blood Prince to hit the theaters, I loved all the movies so far .

The problem with these movies and all movies that have been adapted from previously published works is that you have the ultimate spoilers, and these in particular like the LOTR books are very popular and most people have read them so it is difficult not to know at least part of what is going to happen. A good movie adaption is able to surprise you even when you know the story, unlike cartoons/comic adaptions that have so many stories and since they can change it to suit what is wanted as long as they stay faithful to the characters. To be honest, though I have not tried to avoid any mention of the new Harry Potter, I have not been actively interested in it, I will see it hopefully enjoy it as I did the others.

I'm thrilled to see the movie, and I haven't kept up with anything at ALL. I want to be surprised. At first, when the movies began, I really paid attention to actor selection because it was so important to me.
Then they had Cuaron do the movies.
I wanted to die.
After Cuaron I stopped paying attention completely to any info before the movies. Like. COMPLETELY. It's so sad. His wasn't awful, but it wasn't amazing like the others. It just kind of killed my thrill forever. Maybe HBP will be good enough to rekindle it. I HOPE so.

I'm an internet junkie, so I usually know a lot of things before they come out. But with HP6, it's an exception. I haven't checked out anything about it. Not that I'm not interested, but I don't want to get spoiled since HBP seems to be the darkest of all the books, I really want to be surprised in the cinema. :)

Yay! I'm glad that I'm not alone!! It just seems that with so much publicity with the franchise that I wonder how many people ARE genuinely surprised when things like this come out.

Even if it spoils the ending, I LOVE getting spoils from movies. I just can't help it that I'm a curious cat haha. I mean, to me spoils only reveal the facts of the movie. You won't know in detail what leads to the juicy parts or what happens after. So to me it's just like a helpful preparation for the movie.
