What do your hands say about you? Personally the one thing I indulge myself in is that I always have my nails nicely manicured. I do not keep them too long but I have enough that if you have an itch on your back my nail will do the trick! I love pinks and reds and once in a while I go for the "french manicure" . . Oh and of course my toes have to match whatever color my nails are!
And you? Do you go for manicures? Do you bite your nails? Maybe you do your own manicure? Come over and share some of your tips (literally if you get tips put on :) and even if you dont .. . Maybe tell your tales of different brands of nail polish . .top coats. . no coats.. whatever it is you do let us hear about it!

When I go to the hairdresser she also sees to my nails.
My hands are the only part of me that I have continued to care for ever since my teens. So once every two months I have them professionally done and I care for them in between.
My favourite colours are pearly whites and pale pearly pinks which seem to go with whatever I am wearing. When I was younger I wore reds too but not in the last few years.

Yes they are organised here. Just one appointment and two things get done
I will wear red over the Christmas period but that's the only time I wear it now. Ilove to see it on others though especially if they have really taken care of their hands too. One colour I have never worn and hold no appeal to me at all is black-

I could not agree with you more . .Black is just not meant for pretty girls nails! I really dont even like any of those dark bloody colors or the dark burgundy, at least some look good in them they are not for me. I had a wedding to go to last week and I wore a black dress, so I had Long Stem Roses (such a pretty red) put on . . my nails stay good for a few weeks . .as I try to put a top clear coat on a few times in between my manicure. And with summer here I garden alot so I have to keep a stricter regiment in making sure they last from mani to mani.....
Ah Christmas reds .. . my favorite one to use around that time .. is Jelly Apple Red!

Lucky you . .a hairdresser and a manicurist all in one. Italians just know how to do everything right when it comes to beauty!
I know what you mean when it comes to nail colors. . pearly whites and pale pinks lend themselves to everything. Reds you have to be careful of .. but I do love the way reds look! If I do go red it is more the pinky reds. . nothing with too much orange or blues in my reds . .

I have never been for a manicure in my life, nor have I ever bitten my nails. I have to keep my nails short and unvarnished for work - but that's fine with me as it really irritates me to have long nails. I use a good handcream every night and (when I think of it) I wear cotton gloves overnight. My hands probably say that I work hard and am not into pampering.

i love the color red for my nails because it makes my skin look whiter... i sometimes do the manicure thingy... i don't bite my nails... it's not a good habit for me... i find it really dirty... i just wash my hands and put some lotion on... that's it... i have soft skin so i don't really spend much time beautifying my hands... and before i forgot, my toes have the same color with my nails. :)

eLsMarie, I too love the color red and there is nothing better like soft hands. Though sometimes with my hands in water . always cleaning something it isnt easy to keep then soft and smooth . that's why I take the time to indulge myself in my manicures!
Just curious to your comment about making your skin whiter . . I love when I have a little color to my skin . .makes me feel brighter . . . can you explain a little about that????
Happy Lotting to you till then!

I'd rather do pedicures. As a nurse, I can't have long nails...nor colored ones. Besides, even if I am not working, I still prefer them clean...yet without any colors because, for me (and this is just me opinion), it wouldn't look good on a new mom, carrying a baby...with colred long nails.

aint it interesting how everyone likes different things.. but I guess that is what makes the world go round
for me a pedicure I like to do my own pedicures . . when other people touch my feet it tickles too much . .and I really dont like to be tickled so I end up sitting in the chair all tense instead being relaxed!
anyway congradulation on your mommyhood! there isnt anything better in this round world than being a mom. .
happy lotting to you

well i never bite my nails and i always manicure them carefully by myself esp to polish them smooth not to be sharp to hurt other people.i hope every one will do the same thing but unfortunately most of them seem not to care about whether they will hurt others' skin. i have been abraded several times on the bus and since i mentioned that, nobody really felt sorry about it.
i dont daub any nail polishing on my nails, becoz they dont smell good and i know many harmful elements in them.it si also very uncomfortable and strange to have polishing on my nails, something like that they cannot breathe.

My hands are calloused, frequently covered with healing scratches, my nails are sometimes long and during the summer months...usually have dirt under them.
In the autumn I'll paint my nails for halloween. Sometimes for christmas too. Dunno the brands, but I have a variety of colors. Black, purple, and white are the most frequently used of the colors.

I do get manicures done. I love feeling all pampered. But I don't get it done too often.I am Asian, more on the fair side, so I like nice browns as warm shades. I also like a single coat of silver nail paint. It looks nice on my nails. Lighter shades I go for are normally pinks. ( Not the crazy bright ones..hehe).
Using nail paints that go with ones skin tone is very important, else they can make the fingers look really bad.
I normally pick up Revlon or maybelline. The color and not the brand decides what I go for.
I also use a moisturizer both in the mornings and at night, after a shower.

You got that right cbeee3 . . use the wrong color and what could be a beautiful set of hands looks like an ugly set of claws!
I keep a bottle of moisturizer next to the sink . .that way after a good washing of the dished I dont ruin my beautiful manicure by letting my hands dry out when they dry off !
happy happy here am I :)
