I'm still researching about the different options I have on Passport Renewal. I am seriously considering applying for the LBC services because... well, it's LBC! A good, established name makes it easier for people to feel more trusting.
However, I just found out about DFA's online appointment scheduling system, official link here: http://dfa.gov.ph/form/app3/index.html
Has anyone tried this or know anyone who has? How does this work and how long will it take (without this online scheduling, my friend lined up and processed his new passport from 5am to 12pm)? Is there any significant difference between online scheduling of appointment and simply lining up?

If you were one of the first 500 person who lined up for that day your papers will be processed that same day. But if you didn't make it you'll be on schedule. I haven't tried that online application of passport but I did apply personally at DFA. We lined up for about 3 hours just to get an appointment. There is a significant because you don't have to line up just to get an appointment. You don't have to spend money and time just to go to the office of DFA to get an appointment. Also if you're just going to renew your passport I strongly advice you to go to POEA instead of DFA. There are few people who go there. Most of the are sea farer(seamen). They process those who are renewing their passports and seamen's who are applying for passport.
