While traveling through Iowa, I saw a small herd of cows. Some were brown and white, some were black and some were brown and white. Imagine my surprise, when one of them brought his head up and looked around, AND HE HAD ANTLERS. It was a deer right in the middle of a herd of cows. Talk about hiding in plain sight. He knows how to hide, doesn't he? What have you had happen that surprised you while traveling? Comments please?

The thing happen when we are traveling was a group of people were walking on the road having cross in their back under the hot sun. We were on our way going to the Mountain here, that is historical and the people were going head to the Mountain. It was Holy Week.

We once saw a deer hanging around a road side picnic table. The thing that was so funny was that it was partially sitting on the seat. I think it tried to get in between the bench and the table, tried to turn around, then got a bit stuck. As we were parking it appeared that the deer was sitting down at the table waiting for someone. It was the funniest thing we ever saw. Once we got out of the car, he got scared and somehow wiggled free, tipping over the picnic table. I will never forget that...we still laugh about that to this day

If I had my camera with me, I would have tried to take a picture of that. I think it would have been very funny to others, and myself. Thank you for your comment.

We were at a family outing, rented a cabin, and were cooking breakfast out doors. It was a popular camp ground. We looked up and here came a pot bellied pig to join us for breakfast. It begged for sausage and eggs. Even the camp manager did not know where it came from.

Did you give the pig something to eat?

When I drove a school bus out in the country there was a particular part of my trip that I had to be very careful. I know at least one morning we had six deer leap the fences and cross the road and bound into the next field. I also had a driveway that I would go up that was down between two banks of soil, or hills. One day I turned in and there was a calf or yearling that could not get up the embankments, and I had to trot down the driveway clear to the house with my bus behind him.

I wonder if the calf was afraid you were going to run her over, or not. Thank you for your response.

The huge drop our airplane did while coming into Denver surprised me quite a lot. Other than that? There's always something. Coming over a big hill and seeing a great view, seeing Yosemite Valley from a plane, seeing whales from the coast...
