I've watched this movie and it's darn scary. But the ending is no fun. Not going to say what it is, but for those who have yet to watch, it's quite an alright movie for me.
The thing is, do you guys believe in curses...? Like if you have upset someone without intention, and someone curses you, is it fair? Well of course the movie is exaggerated; like 3 days and being dragged to hell.
And generally about curses, what's your take on that? And would you guys want to watch this movie or just give it a go...?
Thanks for your responses in advance.

Ahm, what do you mean by the 'ending is no fun'? No need to go into details of the plot. I just wanna know if this movie is worth the rent or worth watching in the movie theaters. I dont rent or watch in theaters anymore. I just wait for them to be on cable.LOL So whenever I think that a movie is good enough that its worth renting then I give it a try. But only after great reviews and a bit of a preview from friends who have watched that movie.
Im also a horror fan. Im looking for great horror/suspense movies that I wont be able to guess at the ending or what might happen next. Ive seen a lot of horror movies that are typical for me, and sometimes even disappointing. Though there are those great few that I would watch over and over again. I wouldnt mind giving this movie a chance but the thing is I dont have that much time to watch movies nowadays.
As for curses, Im not sure really. That hasnt happened to me or someone I know but Ive heard of stories about that. Some even dabble in witchcraft just to bind and execute a specific curse.
Well, thanks for the heads up about this movie. Have a nice day.^_^

If you want me to tell you specifically the ending, I'll pm you, bj.. It is no fun, really and the movie is all revolving around the curse. I know what you mean exactly; sometimes I don't have time for movies too; and waiting for the series or movies to appear on VD. It'd be better that way.
But I believe that sometimes people turn to witchcraft to get what they want by fast means. Thanks for responding, my friend.

Alright, my friend..I won't spoil the ending for you..
I recommend you to watch the movie. It has its fair of scare share and I like the concept of the movie in terms of horror and the curse makes me think whether there are still people donning curses to others in real life. Touches ^^ on wood.
Tell me what you think after you've watched, aite..

I dont mind a movie about a curse. A lot of Japanese horror stories are involved with a curse of some sort. You dont have to tell me the ending. Thanks for the offer though.^_^ But I would like to make things clear and on the record:
Will you or wont you recommend this movie?
Thanks for your input. You're always welcome.

I have watched it just now. I don't find it scary but I still enjoyed it. I had fun watching Drag Me To Hell. The movie title really means it. I liked the sound effects and the timing of scenes. There were moments that I am shocked and would jump off my seat. But I really have to say that I have laughed. There were funny scenes. LOL. But I enjoyed it, I don't discredit it to the movie. One more thing that I liked in the movie was the story. They used a classic myth of curses, gypsies, etc. There's a historical and mythical bases on the story. So that made it more interesting. Drag Me To Hell may not be really SCARY at all BUT it totally is ENTERTAINING.

Denture. LOL. It was gross. I was almost half-watching not because it was scary but because it was gross. LOL. It was effective though.

Thanks, bro. That's very descriptive and exactly what I would sum up DMTH with, rather than just labeling it as a pure horror type of movie.
The last part is a bummer, but I agree with you, there are surely lots of funny moments.
One key-word: Denture, denture..LOL. If you get what I mean.. It is indeed entertaining. Thanks for your response, I appreciate it so much.

Bro.. my mate and I were 'kiasu' and we went to catch the sneak.
Boy..I tell you, even sneak previews have lots of people watching. Partly also we wanted to avoid the crowd when the movie gets released. I think I would want to catch Transformers sneak too. See how my shift goes.
Watch the movie, bro and tell me what you think. I'd want a 2nd opinion. Heeehe..

Bro, you should watch the movie. The trailer has been showing on our TV channel 5. Scary, though. But watch the ending and you will be upset too. It's quite good, coming from Sam Raimi. But certain parts are comical; especially the 'bunny'. LOL.

I loved the movie, it was very funny. As for curses I am not a believer. A friend of mine gave me a gift of an African tribal mask that he was convinced was cursed, he just wanted rid of it, some friend lol. I have not had anything thing bad happen or anything out of the ordinary but it does look very good displayed in our hall.

Haha ... that's really something. I think it would depend on different people , some wouldn't want to take it at all. Since you just use it for decoration and hasn't had any strange encounters (I really hope not) ..then it's all good. Sorry for my late response yeah. Thanks for coming thezone.

My friend was convinced that the mask was bad luck and could not get rid of it fast enough. He always asks me do I still have it and the look of terror on his face is priceless when I say "I do". I guess he is just waiting for something bad to happen me before he says, "I told you so" lol. I see it as a piece of art and is really is beautiful and no strange encounters as yet.
No worries for the late response, a late one is better than none at all

Actually I've watched this movie with my boyfriend. Well for me, it was pretty scary at first and gross at the same time, with all the old lady's denture and everything. I know I'm a spoiler lol. But there are some scenes where it's too corny and funny, just like when the old lady's eyes popped out(just like in cartoons). I was somehow embarrassed with my boyfriend 'cause I was the one who chose the movie, and it wasn't that scary at all. And true, it is really exaggerated.
I somehow believe in curses, that's why we people should be cautious to everything we do and say to other people, especially with strangers because we don't know what they are capable of doing.

You gave some great descriptions there, . You are right, without spoiling anything, the denture part is really LOL. Some of my mates laughed like crazy and I couldn't help it too.
Some of them found the movie silly but some gave thumbs up. I suppose there are some comical touches to the movie, seemingly Sam Raimi and Spiderman is related in the movie sense.
Thanks for your response and welcome to mylot, new friend. May you enjoy your time here with great and awesome friends.

I wrote my own feelings on it. I didn't like how it ended, because I think it was unfair. There was only so much Chris could do. Murder is murder, which is what that is. It wasn't right for any person who opens up and shoots people up, just because one person messed them up. Just because Chris said no, doesnt mean the gypsy had the right to do that.

I havent seen the whole movie yet but i think it's cool. i have seen the trailer with my boyfriend and it looks very scary, the old wona's face looks so scary too. I would want to buy a dvd and watch this at home. I dont want to watch it in the theater because my boyfriend is not here and i have no one to watch the movie with! it's always nice to watch scary movies when you have someone to cuddle you and scream with you! i will definitely get a copy and watch this. I have seen reviews and my sister said it's a nice movie.. really scary and the effects are fantastic, i would want to see it for myself!:)

I love watching at home too; especially with mates and all. Awesome. That would be lovely to watch with love ones too.
So do watch it. You can also watch it on DVD, I'm sure it'll be out soon.

I've heard it's good but trailer doesn't look that great and it spoils too much. I know it might be good since it's from Sam Raimi so I'm going to see it

I am never brave enough to watch this kind of movie. It scares me a lot! I don't believe in curses but I believe in them when I watch that kind of movie. You know what I mean, right? When the movie ends, the fear haunts a little bit, but then it's gone. So....

Hi Zed, I haven't seen this film and probably won't as I tend not to watch horror type movies however, I do believe in curses, from generational curses to cursed items like Tutumkaman and certain buildings or pieces of land. There are many documented cases, so many that there has to be an element of truth in them. It is breaking the curse that is difficult but it can be done. Huggles. Ellie :D

Hi. zed_k4. I have never seen this movie before at all. It sounds pretty interesting though! I do enjoy watching movies like this. I will make sure that I remember this movie so that I can watch it someday. I think that if a person believes in curses, then it may come true. I just think that it is scary that someone can put a curse on anyone in life. Sometimes, I used to think that someone has done this to me. My dad claims that they have, but what does he know anyway...

Me too .. I think that people can put a curse on anyone , but deep down inside , they will have to be responsible for his/her own actions. Some curses backfire back to the "owner" .. who have given them to the victims ..and I think that's just fair. Thanks for coming , cream97..

me and my boyfriend went to go see the movies this pass saturday.
the first ten minutes of the movies i honestly thought sucked
to the highest power. As the movie went on i was a little more intrigued
by the old lady. I think they went a little far with the all the liquids
coming out of the womans mouth. The was just gross. They made the movie
more disgusting than scary, although i definately was jumping a couple
of times. It wasnt real scary though because i didnt have fears after
the movie. The movie got alot better during the end. I thought that the
boyfriend would get draged to hell because he had the button, but i was
wrong.........it was okay. my boyfriend was dissapointed.

LOL.. I laughed when I read the part you mentioned about the liquid. You are right, I was rather disgusted by that as well. It seemed like there is a never ending to her denture..
I found the last part to be disappointing and perhaps the same with your boyfriend. I agree with you. It seems like the boyfriend is the one supposed to die, something like the movie The Ring, where after someone has passed on the tape, that person will die. In this case, it's the button.
Thanks for your response and have a nice day..

I love horror movies and this one was pretty good. At least it was different from the usual slasher movies that seem to be a dime a dozen. This one actually reminded me of another movie, Thinner. Anyone remember that one? Another classic from the Stephen King collection. It was a "curse" movie as well. I would give Drag me to Hell a thumbs up over every other movie released in pass few weeks.

I have not had the chance to watch Thinner, but perhaps I would in future.
You are right; and coming from Superman Director Sam Raimi, it has its fair share of horror. So, you've watched it, I gather? The humor is something like Tales from the Crypt, right..Ha..
Thanks for your response..:)
