Well I do have a desktop and a laptop. I use my laptop for my daily works like browsing, text, chatting, graphics designing and all the other stuffs that a university student would (need to) do. My desktop is more like a powerhouse so I keep that for high performance works like playing games and doing system resource intense stuffs.

For me laptop is more suitable and beneficial to me since I can carry it anywhere and it is less space consuming. The only problem with laptop is that it is more expensive when you need to replace its parts.

Yea you are absolutely right. Parts are very expensive plus some brands like Dell requires their own parts to be replaced with.

It depends what I like to do! For example three or four years ago! I was a home guy ,I love to stay at home,I love to stay at my room to do some reading to do some work.So at that time I need a desktop.
Howevevr now I began to be intrested in traveling ,in visiting different friends in different cities,so I need a laptop. After all it is convenient to carry!

Yup, i agree with you..
I was once working on a POS Provider, there you have to go to different clients and present the system to the store owners, managers and even cashiers...i usually bring laptop to show the system to clients...

Yes i think it depends from users and needs!!So if you like more have a mobile computer because you are always off in relation to your home and need your computer which it must be compact so laptop, notebook will be suitabe...desktop is always very stable and smart and if you are working with it even useful and comfortable!!Personal it is difficult i think both even if my next computer i think will be a laptop than a desktop..it depends..

i like desktops over notebooks but i think that is because i am used to using a desktop all the time. a notebook is a nice though because you can go anywhere with it... unlike a desktop that you can't pick up and bring with you.
but i think desktops sometimes work better then notebooks but i guess that depends on the size of over on the computers and what they can and can't handle.

Yup, i also think that desktop is better than notebooks...And also when it comes to hardware troubleshooting, its easier to troubleshoot desktop than notebook pc

Desktop pc is very much useful for professional use. I mean you are a programmer so pc will be comfortable for you to do everything related to your work. But notebook is just like you say internet surfing, blogging, chatting, and if you are a business man you can take that to your meeting for taking notes. Notebook is also very much useful for educational purpose as it is a portable thing you can keep it with you anywhere.

I will choose notebook or even netbook. My daily activities are surfing the internet, blogging, mylotting, facebooking and so on. Most of the activities when I am using the computer is to go online.
I would wan to move around my house with my computer with me. So, I prefer notebook or netbook. It would be very useful and flexible.
