What is your concept about generation gap? Is there such a thing? According to the book that I read, generation gap was coined by sociologists and anthropologists in the 1960's and is often still used today. My own perception about it is that parents and offspring have distinct values and beliefs. As a result, many parents fear that they will lose influence with their children when peer pressure becomes too highly valued. What about you friends? What are your concepts about generation gap?

There is definitely a generation gap. I dont think it is really because the values differ, though. I think it is because the world is changing so fast. So what one generation grows up with is completely different from the next generation! Look at things like computers and cell phones! I grew up with computers, my parents didnt. I didnt grow up with cell phones, but my kids will. It creates an entirely different world!

It was pretty easy for us because we are pretty flexible. I dont have kids yet, so I am not sure how I will deal with that!

Hi France, Generation gap is a mere phrase, the same problem, if you want to call it that, has always been around. It is the difference between those who are young and inexperienced in the ways of the world, and those who have matured. In today's world, because of the society that we have created, there is an increasing worry over peer pressure and that's what has to be contained. Blessings.

How are you pose? I indeed agree with you that one thing why generation gap exists is the indifference that people feel, which as what you've said, humans made it. This in turn make people feel anxious on how they can make themselves fit in a particular generation. Cheers!:)
