Hey guys, i need your help. I'm planning to get a tattoo this year! And i'm super excited to get it, but what does the bible saying about getting a tatoo? Is it wrong? Is it right? Does it mention it in the bible? I really want to get one, but if I shouldn't then i might have to change my mind. Can you guys please help me out?

There is a a passage in the old testament that says you are not supposed ot put any marks on your body. But it depends on you and your churches interpretation.
I just recently became saved and have several tattoos. I also plan to get more. An older patron of the church remarked that I won't be getting anymore tattoos now that I am a Christian.
So my husband and I discussed it with our pastor. My pastor believes that it is an old Jewish law and does not translate to our faith today. He believes that the church needs to progress with the times and accept some cultural norms. As long as the tattoo is not of anything sacreligious he has no problems.
Of course not all churches see it that way. Mormons and Jews are still forbidden to get tattoos.
In my personal opinion God is a loving being who is only concerned with what is in our hearts not on our skin.

i personally dont think that it says anything about getting a tattoo. i know some christians that actually have tattoos and i think that the only guideline is this is that God says your body is a temple and you should treat it as such, but it doesnt get into specifics.

I think you should get a tattoo if this is what you want. The bible has a lot of things to talk about than mere tattoos, in my humble opinion. Cheers!!
