Do you still let the AC on though it's raining outside?

Yes, I do mostly. It becomes humid to me when I turned off the AC and it's uncomfortable for me to feel the humid. I know it's an energy waste so I try to reduce it. But I really enjoy wearing socks and my jacket or sweater or be under the blanket when it is really cold =)

I wont turn off the AC when it is raining out. I tend to turn the AC to about 75 during the day when Im not in my apartment and turn it down to about 70 at night while Im sleeping. Im sometimes asthmatic so, I need to be cool when Im sleeping.

It really would have to depend how warm it is in the house. When I was living with my parents, I remember last summer, they would run the AC for a little bit then turn it off to cool the house down especially the top floor. Then we would just cut on the fans. The basement was always cool.

When it Rains in South Florida you better be having the AC on because then you will have really bad mosquito's in your house from all the water just laying around and they only come when there is a lot of water and were it is humid(hot. It is so hot outside right now here and it is very humid so the AC is always on but when no one is home it stays around 75 and when the house is being occupied its around 73. It doesn't ever seem to get cold here.

I only turn on the AC for one reason: the temperature is hot. So hot that I cannot go to sleep. I don't use it to combat humidity because as long as it is not hot, I can live OK with humidity.
AC really consumes lots of energy and the worst of all, not only cooling the room itself is wasteful of energy, the fact that it is cooling so much more than needed is the major problem. I mean, I am OK with the AC cooling my bed and me but definitely not my wardrobe or the walls or the windows. Yet, when you switch on the AC, they still enjoy the cooling effect for "free".
