I don't like to be bounded by a religion. Also I don't really believe in God, that fulfills our wishers, listens our prayers or something. For me the the God is the meaning of inner love, oneness of all the living beings in this world. I don't think it makes any meaning when we pray god for our self wishes, but it seems to be really beneficial when we pray selflessly for others beings with compassion, this will lead to purification of our soul, and lead to the path of salvation. May not be completely, but to the path of salvation. It will help purify our mind and the purified mind is really bright to catch up knowledge and wisdom...
So I believe in spirituality rather than the boundedness of the religions...
Happy mylotting...

Karl Marx said that 'religion is the opium of the People'. He saw religion, well catholic church actually, as a way to control people and have them act as they wished by making them believe that it was God's will. Of course that those days the amount of nformation to which people had acess to was minimal and so they all pretty much believe what their pastor told them...
This is to say that I'm not a huge fan of 'organized faith' or religions either, I believe that one's relationship to God is too personal to be shared with 500 people in a church.

What?
I'm sure you had a point but I really don't quite understand what you are trying to explain.

God is as real as you want it to be. God is a product of the mind of the members of the human species and takes its reality from perception. Can there be a god if you do not perceive there to be one? Like it or not there can be no god without a religious idea of a god. You do not need a religion to support your concept of a god or gods but whatever your idea of god, it has its roots in some form of religion.

I don't think I agree with you. I believe thet the feeling that there is something above you is very natural to most people, the way you act about it or towards it is what is conditioned by your upbringing and experiences, meaning mostly other religions.
I'm not sure if I made my point clear, but I hope so.

I believe in the God of the Bible. I have a personal relationship with Him. I believe in what the Bible teaches. I have seen too much, and experienced too much to not believe. Since I accepted Jesus as Personal Saviour, my life has been totaly different, and even when bad times come, I have peace in my heart. I can not imagine my life without God. I was once seperated from God and my life was hell. Now that I am His child, life is a brease, with all its dificulty and whatever.
For the first time I am realy living and life has prpose.
What about you?

I'm really not religious, just spiritual. I think you can call it God, or nature, or higher being, Frankenstein or Tooth fairy. He still exists and looks out for us. I'm not a fan of the Bible though, because it was actually made by men...
I guess that what i'm trying to say is, i believe we all have very personal relations with God, even if we don't know it, and that can't be ruled by a man-made book, or guided by other people.

So you are a chritian. Are you catholic or protestant?
I know it's quite personal, but could I ask you why do you have such faith in God?

One of my favorite atheist quotes:
"I contend that we are both atheists. I just believe in one fewer god than you do. When you understand why you dismiss all the other possible gods, you will understand why I dismiss yours."

That is quite right actually.
However, what about the people who believe in the existence of several Gods? You have some serious explaining to do...

Yes I believe in God . I found God through the reading of the Bible not in religion. As I how my life travel day by day I fell personally that God is with me in problems and blessing i got in my life. I you read and meditate about the bible you dont need a religion to guide you in searching truth about God.
