Condo or House and Lot? Where do you prefer to live...

Condo and house and lot have their own advantages and disadvantages. Choosing which one is the best for your family depends on a lot of circumstances. For me, I would choose to have and live in a house and lot than condo. I would love to have my own garden where my husband and our kids will play and have bonding time during the weekends to their heart desire while I prepare for our snack. Then that house? We will call it our home.... How about you? Do you prefer condo? Or house and lot?

I would definitely prefer to live in a house with my own backyard and garden! well, i respect those who would love to live in a condo, that's them, but for me, i would never really call it a home if it's in a building. It's like an office! Or maybe am just a little conservative with the way i think. I am not sure. But what i like about living in a house and lot is you can really say it's yours than share a big building with a lot of strangers. It's nice to have a lawn too, and flowering plants in the front yard with a swing where my children would play someday. That's what i imagine a house. well, that's for me.:)

That's exactly what I would love to have as well. A house with own backyard and garden. And huge backyard and garden for that matter where my family will spend bonding time during the weekend. :)

I prefer to live on a house and lot since privacy will becomes issue if you prefer to live in a condo unit. In condo, all units were sticked on the same wall and same building. Unlike house and lot, which you will feel more comfortable and had privacy. Also, in house, you can do what you want without having disturbing the people next door :-).

But I think you will still have your own privacy even if you are leaving in a condo. Although I agree with you that the feeling is different when we are in a house. It feels more private.

If i will own a place on my own someday. No doubt I will choose to live in a house. I don't want a condominium, not my type.

Being a mom, I'd love to have some space where I can see my son playing from outside. Maybe somewhere I can set up a mini pool (the one I can simply store after using)...or maybe, play with him at the lawn. That said...I opt for a house and lot. A condiminium may sound fancy. But I don't think it suits me and my son. We'll surely love to play and cuddle... and just around. If we'll do that in a condominium, we might end up receiving complaints from people below or above our floor.

I just recently bought a Condo (2 bed, 2 full bath, and two parking stalls), I love it, but there where many deciding factors in that decision, I am only 19, I have no children, and no dependants. I was paying more to rent my last place then my monthly morgage is, and the suite i was renting only had 1 bathroom, was in one of the worst planned and accessible areas in the city, was 45 minutes from my work, as far from all my friends and family and was built in the 1960, whereas my Condo is Close to everything i need, my family is minutes away, it takes me 15 minutes to get to work was built in 2001. I do have a Patio and because im on the main floor it backs onto green space. With my morgage payment being so much less than my rent it enables me to save more money for when i wish to move up and buy a house. because im only 19, i will have enough equity and additional funds. that my morgage will be that much less. making it the best decision for me at the time.

Lucky you for accomplishing that at so young. A condo with 2 bed and 2 full bath? Wow. :) I was studying at age 19 and hadn't had a chance to earn income until I was 22. For oyur case, condo is indeed practical at this time.

I love to live in a home rather than condo. Now, I own a home with back yard. My kids love to play in the backyard as well... it is very fun and easy for my children. If I live in a condo is just for a short period of time, I need a nice area home and close by school as well.

Well, I do prefer a house rather than a condo. I guess, it ain't good for kids to live in a condo, they won't be able to play around because like what you said its better to have a garden for the kids to play.

I prefer a house and lot compare to condo. In a house and lot your family can move a lot because of the space and you can have a backyard full of grown vegetables and you can have a garden of your own and a play ground for your kids. In a condo unit your space is very small and you cannot move easily like in a house and lot. In a condo unit you are confined in a small area.

i prefer house and lot because i have the title of the properties unlike if its condo, i think you only have rights and i think the contract is up to 50 years. so after that the building will be renovated so you dont have it anymore. i dont know if im right but thats what i know. and still i want house and lots because i can do anything i want with the house.

I would stay in a condo before i have kids. I just the like the concept of living high on top :D But for kids, it's better having a normal terrace or a bungalow house. Like you say, they can run around the garden and not getting into accidents. Take care.

i would prefer a house and lot..because in a condo..what if i want to extend my house a little bit or enlarge with the design i really like..in a condo i think you can't do that...and its more relaxing for me in my own house..i can have my own garden too..so i think having house and lot is the best for me!...Have a nice day..:D

of course i love a house becoz first its separate second other people will not disturb my life over or below floor. third if i live in a house, i may have some greenland for my own where i can walk, wander, run, dance and walk my dog.

I have been staying in a condo for the past 22 years, and I love it. I used to stay in a house with a garden, but I gave that up. I would love a garden when I can grow my own plants and flowers, but what I gain in living in a condo is a view, nice breeze, full facilities like swimming pool, tennis courts, gym, etc. covered carpark and beautiful landscaped areas. Furthermore I don't have to take care of external cleaning, security, repainting and repair works, etc. because these are taken care of by the management committee. The place I am staying at is a nice area near the sea, so I really love it here. For me to move back to a house, the location has to be good and I must like the setting and it mustn't be hot. What I used to get with a house was heat and mosquitoes. Here in my condo unit, I don't even get mosquitoes.

If I am just single and living on my own, I would prefer a nice condo in a nice location. But if I am already married, I absolutely would prefer getting my own house and lot. With a house and lot, I can do my own designs for my house. It would also have a bigger space for a family as compared to a condo. With a house and lot, I can have lots of rooms, a garden, and a basketball court.

A house. I'd feel much more comfortable plus I've lived in a house basically all my life. When I move on and move in with my husband I really would like to get a house before looking into condos or anything of that sort. Also with a house, I think there's a lot more room to fix it the way you'd like it. My parents have done a significant amount of work on our house and the decor looks absolutely different from when we first came here.

I would rather live in a house. However, right now I live in a trailer. :( I have never lived in a condo, but I have a house. I liked it a lot better than I do trailers.

I prefer to live in a house and lot.. co'z its more secure there for me and robbers will think that you are not rich so robbers will not steal things from you're house... Its more nice to live in a small room full of decorations and easy to know where is this and that than a very big room w/out nothing and very confusing....

right now we live in a house with 5 bedrooms, 1 family room, 1 living room, a dining room, a kitchen, a breakfast room, 3 bathrooms, laundry room , backyard with inground pool, a big front yard and i love it. It takes an energy to clean though. right now its working for us because i have a son who loves to play and run all around. But me and my husband were thinking that when time comes like we are old and barely cant clean we want to move in a condo which cater to what we need.
