any musicians out there?

i play guitar, and write my own songs. i am ready to venture out and perform. i will probably start small in a local coffee shop. there are a few coffee shops in town that have open mic nights, and they are real chill. i am influenced by bob dylan and joan baez. i got my music bug from my dad, who taught my brothers and i guitar.

I've just joined a band and we performed at rockquest In wellington, New zealand last Sunday, We didn't get in to the regional finals but It was sure fun and a great experienced, I play the drums in the band and we got a couple of gigs coming up so it's going to be mad.

niceee that sounds exciting. winning would have been sweet but it isn't about that really, it is about having fun and playing your music. keep on drumming!

That's very good. So, you have excellent talent to become a successful musician. I don't have that talent like you. I am a music lover, just listening and appreciating. I like listening to all kinds of music, rock, jazz, classical, latin, and more. I like listening to music of other cultures too. Wish you success !

thanks :) i like listening to music from different cultures as well. i try to keep an open mind when it comes to music. i do not want to stay closed into one genre of music, because i would be missing out. i do enjoy folk, blues,and rock and roll quite a lot, but that does not mean i do not listen to some country, jazz,etc..
