it happened quite a few times yesterday and I was ready to give up. . .every time i went to submit . my post disappeared. . and it was on posts that i took a nice amount of time and thought before submitting and so I retyped it again. . and again it was gone. . . went to a pm and that too i couldnt send. . and g-d it was 2 before I would be ready to receive my cute
and so i ranted and raved and got frustrated beyond belief .. .
and the funny thing is yesterday . I made double what i made every other day . . though my star went down a rating .. it has to have been in my frustration I wasnt posting up to par!
but I have made a few good friends here who saw through my frustration and helped me get through it!
sh*t happens. .
we move on
and always hopefully we move on to a better place &spades

Easy with the pencil, you could do yourself an injury.
When it happens to me I simply get up switch the kettle on and make a cup of coffee.
What I have found is, because I have many applications and folders open at the same time (I work from home so I have work related stuff and other stuff open) and sometimes I find that I have 4 or 5 myLot discussions open. I will then post a reply to an interesting discussion, only to find that, on that particular page, I am not logged-in - AAARRRRRGGGGGHHH - pencil - temple or coffee.
I then do the whole login bit and - guess what???? Yup a clean sheet - start again.
I now tend to make sure (I have just checked and I am logged-in) that I am logged in before I post a response. I find it saves on pencils and coffee - lol

It used to happen to me so much that I got into the habit of selecting all what I have composed and pasting them in a notepad so that in case something wrong happens and it doesn't get posted, I still have a copy of my post. Of course, I had to re-type them all over again when that happens which, kind'a helped out on developing my typing skills... if I do have any of that.. (^_^")
I just kept on participating, especially when there are those who do reply on my responses, even though each succeeding post wouldn't be counted, I still like the exchange. Then, when I really wanted to increase my post count, I would intentionally go to someone's profile and see if they have interesting discussions that I could participate in. Luckily, I do get to find some and that's smooth sailing from there.. of course, I still do the habit of selecting all of what I have typed and pasting it on a notepad in case pressing that 'post response' wouldn't really post it and would show me a window that coudln't display what should be displayed like, add tags or add to interest in case the topic isn't among my interests yet..
I could still recall the times that after giving all my heart on posting and it suddenly doesn't go through, I'd end up posting a shorter version of my ideas due to disappointment (-_-")

Never hit ctrl enter. It does something different in every application. Holy COW I do it all the time. I put less-than greater-than signs around ctrl and it deleted my response. How freaky is that !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

YES! It always happens to me, I don't know why, it is really irritating. The worst part is I can't use control-z because it says I need 500 post to do so.

The funny thing i have found is this : because it took so long for me to get over 500, even 146 posts past that (it hasn't taken me long because ive been a mylot junkie this last month ) I forget that I can copy and paste or control z because i went so long not being able to do it

Yeah, I've had that happen to me quite a number of times.
After the first 4 or so times whenever I made a long post, I always made sure to copy&paste on notepad. Although I don't have to rethink the entire post, it's still pretty annoying to have to copy out the whole thing again since I don't have 500 posts yet.

oh yes, it had happened to me a loooootttttt of times already... there are times that i can go ok with it, but there were some times that i get really so annoyed, especially when im feeling lazy to type and i had already typed this long post and then something happened, its gone, even though i press ctrl z, i cant bring it back. just yesterday, i was replying to this post, expressing my feelings in it, it was really long, then i dont know what happened the message got lost and crtl z-ing will bring it back, i felt like throwing the dang laptop...

It really is annoying, just a different kind of rejection. A man should be used to it by now, yet here i am admiring the brilliance of my creative writing, then, POOF!!
There she went! I look forward to getting to 500, just to gain a little more control, however, in my short mylot lifespan, I have now lost my posts 3 times:(
