Once when we were a child, we often asking this question by our teacher, parents, or relatives, what is your dream forthe future? Somepne might said I want to be a doctor, pilot, dentist, etc. But growing up, sometimes either we cannot reach our dream because of interested in other fields or just failed in reaching our dream. Some of us also lucky can fulfill those dreams and some of us still trying to make our way to reach the dream. I want to ask mylotters, in which stage you are right now and how do you feel about it? Failed, success, or still in progress? Do you think it is possible to reach our dream after failing in the past?

When I was a child, I was always wanted to be a teacher, and it was still the same dream until I went to Junior High. However, the dream was gone when I went to high school..especially when I found out that a teacher's salary in my country was not even enough to cover my life, lol. I do not even know why such noble job paid that low. So, I picked Accounting as my major when I was at the uni, but still I do not think it is the right track for me. I end up being and admin assistant and an executive secretary now, which I like. However, I also have some side job, which is a mystery shopper. I found it so interesting, but too bad not many opportunities in my country. Although I do not achieve my dream job, but I am happy of what I am doing now, because I am enjoying it. Surely, it's not a fail :)

Of course it is not a fail, especially when you have double job intriguing as a mystery shopper...I guess right you now you work like a spy, observing people closely without them knowing what you do :) Being a teacher is indeed a noble job, but it pays low, that's why many of the teacher can't stand being a teacher for so long, although teacher is the one who teach us so many things for the future. Without a teacher, we cannot be who we are right now. Thanls for the response!

I wanted to be a teacher when I was young. I'm happy because the reason why I haven't reached for that dream is not because of sad reasons. I didn't get to achieve that because as I grew older, my dream has changed. :) I realized alot of things about myself, that I would choose another profession that would make me really happy :)

Well, when I was a child I really wanted to become a doctor. But when I graduated High School, I took up Education and had finished it for 4 years without really thinking of becoming a teacher after graduation. I didn't able to reach my goal to become a doctor and it will never fulfill it in the future. The reason why I didn't took the course that I want it is because my father doesn't allow me due to my health problem and another reason is because of financial problem. My parents can't afford to send me to a medical school and since I was granted a full scholarship in one of the prestigious school in our place, I just took the opportunity even though I can't see my self teaching in front of the students.
Actually, aside from being a doctor is my dream when I was a child, I also have other dreams that I want to achieve in the future. As of now, I'm trying my best to achieve it. Well, I still have enough time to be able to achieve it and I will try my best to be able to reach my goals sooner or later. I won't let the past be my hindrances of not fulfilling my other goals in life. I'll use the past experiences as a challenge and learning the mistakes I've done so that I would know which path should I take for the future.

When i was a child i wanted to be a nurse and teacher. Everytime someone ask me what do you want to be when your grow up? Either the two i will answer. But i ended up not fulfilling the two career. I finished bachelor of arts major in economics. Worked for a short time, now i am mother of 1. I am happy that even i dont fulfill my dream still happy because i have my daughter and i wish someday whatever she wants to be when she grows up she will be successful.

I agree with you. If I am going to be a parents someday, I will push my children to reach their dream, be confident, and always teach them that everybody can reach their goals, even if it would seem impossible. If you see "Pursuit of Happyness", it is a really great movie of how a man be a single parent and works hard for the money. Push yourself to the limit, and failure is a stepping stone to success.

When I was a kid I said I want to be a nun, so that my mum would be proud of me.lol. She is religious Christian. When I reach the age of 17, which is my final year in secondary school I dream to be an engineer.
Now, at the age of 23, I am an engineer indeed. So I guess I fulfill my dream. But still not successful enough. Life like that. When we got what we want, it's always not good enough.

yes! Dream can change indeed. When I was a child, I always want to be a doctor or dentist. But when I was in high schoool, I consult with my uncle which was qute a well known doctor, and he advise me if my passion is helping others, I should be a doctor, but if I want money, go to economics or law! That's why I end up taking major in accounting:) Besides, I don't wanna spend 6 years in studying medics and another 6 years to be a specialist....So, yeah I think I fulfill my dream but I also have a new higher dream now...

When I was a kid I wanted to be a lot of things. I wanted to be a lawyer, a fireman, a policeman and many others. But I did not become one of my childhood dreams probably due to things that are beyond my control. Through the years I have come to adjust and adapt to what is available to me. Although I did not become what I really wanted to be I still consider myself fortunate to have achieved a lot of things. But I cannot say that I am that successful yet but I'm gonna get there soon. God Willing!

I'm an internet instructor, or we can call it a trainer or teacher, or whatever lol..
i have a few childhood goals, which was to be an electricity engineer or a teacher. but gladly i was graduated from information technology engineer and now i am a teacher lol..so ehm, maybe i can say it's not much slipped from my childhood goals lol..i'm very grateful for where i am now boy..i am not yet and wish i won't be failed, coz i am still in progress for a self-improvement, i will always try to learn something, improve my skills and knowledges, be more mature and wise in whatever i decide for my life, work, love, and everything...it's a whole package..
yes, i personally think it is still possible as long as we take our failure in the past as a lesson, and commit to learn better from our experience so we won't do the same mistake again for out future..

I've never reached my goals, nor will I. My goals changed and now become my new reality...I think I remember wanting to be a private investigator...I'm currently in Information Security - it's close right? But when life starts happening you need to make adjustments...I'm not sure I failed as much as I grew up.

i've had a lot dreams when i was young. i dreamt of being a nurse, also of being a teacher. back in high school i wanted to be a biologist during my first year, then a zoologist during my second year, then a molecular biologist/biotechnologist during my third year. now i am in college, and i ended up taking my pre-medicine course. i know that this is what i like and i know that it's gonna be hard in med school, but my passion to heal and to save lives is what keep me going.
