do you know how many Red Wings have been with the team through the 1997 season. In other words , how many have been with the team for all the present day Cups? I have Draper, Linstrom, Maltby. Was Ozzie with the team during the 2002 Cup?I need your help.

No. Osgood was traded to the Islanders in 2001 after the Wings acquired Hasek. When the Islanders drafted DiPietro, they then traded Osgood to St. Louis where he played out the rest of his contract before re-signing with Detroit in 2005 as a free agent. Draper, Holmstrom, Lidstrom, and Maltby are the only players that were with the Wings from the 1997 season straight through until today. Chelios was close, joining the Wings in 1999, as was Datsyuk as he was drafted in 1998 and Zetterberg but the four listed above are the only four. The only missing from your list was Holmstrom.

Tomas! I forgot Tomas! Thanks. I couldn't remember if Ozzie was Hasek's backup.I remember that both Hull and Hasek were on the wings at the same time after the " goal" that killed Buffalo. I still call hank and Dats the kids because of hull calling their line "The Old goat and two kids."Thanks for your response.It cleared it up for me.
