Do you have cramps on your leg while you were sleeping?

Lately at my sleep, I suddenly feel cramped on my leg, especially at the calf area. I have to suddenly stand up, and walk for a minute to relieve from the cramps. I just don't know what was going. It has happened for several nights. I tried to massage it a little to soothe the tension in my muscle. Has it happened to anyone here before?

I have also had leg and foot cramps at night. I have heard that this is more common when you do not get enough potassium. Try eating more bananas, tomatoes, oranges and peaches. These foods are high in potassium.

I get this once in a while and it is such a horrible feeling. I can still feel it in my calf in the morining after I've managed to get too sleep. I did read somewhere that it was to do with potassium levels but as my happen randomly I have not tried to find a remedy other than vigorous massaging when they strime.

i tend to have that kind of problem lately everytime i sleep.it's somewhat kinda disturbing when you're serenely dozed off to sleep when suddenly you feel the cramps.what i did is massage my feet, especially on the areas of the toes.it really does help make the cramps disappear.i guess we just need to move once in a while when we're sleeping so we can avoid getting cramps. happy mylotting!

Yes, I also have experienced cramps on my calf muscles during my sleep. I did some research and found out that these type of cramps are called rest cramps and often occur during the night. I am relieved to find out that this condition is not life-threatening but can really be painful and disruptive of sleep. Sadly, I did not find out what really causes night cramps.

It never happened to me but it happens to my brother all the time. I think it's because he doesn't excercise with the calf muscle that much.
