if it already has 50 or more discussions or if it already has a best response marked?
Will you?
At times i tend to skip those that already has a best response marked. However, if the topic is something close to home, i'd just give my 2 cents worth anyway.

If I find that a discussion has 4 or more pages of responses then I typically am on my way. I feel like my opinion has probably already been addressed by someone else, in that case. Unless it's something I really want to respond to or have something really great to add - then I will go ahead and post it.

Hi regal!
If the discussion is meaningful and I feel that I can say something substantial to the discussion, I'll go for it, irrespective of the fact wheather it has already received more than 100 responses or the best response. I have seen there are some very nice members who do not fail to post comments on your response even if you have posted 100th response.I love to share my ideas and views through discussions.

A responder deserves a comment whether they are first, tenth or hundredth that are responding in my opinion! Mine always get one (eventually ).

Nice one, mysd! You are right, the response receives a comment because the responder deserve it. Yeah, you always get comments because you deserve it.

Hi there Regal!
The number of responses posted in a discussion greatly affects my decision as to post my response or not. If there are already fifty responses posted to it, it is more likely that someone has posted something similar to what I would want to post anyway.
But having a best response already picked doesn't affect me at all. As long as no one else mentioned what I had to say, I will post it.

Even if it has a hundreds of responses and I like the topic I still respond to it. Also, if the topics for discussion for the day was sent to me as much as I can I respond to topics that interest me.

Good day, regal_aeros! Well, it depends on the discussion. If the title was catchy and the topic was interesting, I try to respond and as well as to post comments to other responses. The discussion received a lot of responses because it was a good topic so I will participate on it to share my views and to learn from others had shared. Happy mylotting!

Having a good title for a discussion can also help to receive a lot of responses. If the discussion starter posted comments on all of the responses, that would be a good discussion because there is interaction among the members.

I respond to all the discussions from my email notifications and as they do not give the number of responses or if the BR has been given it does not make any difference to me. If the discussion is intersting I respond if not I pass.

If a topic is interesting I respond regardless of how many responses it has already received. If the best response has already been awarded then it makes no difference at all.
I recently responded on a discussion with over 900 responses which was started over 3 years ago. I felt proud to be among those who responded - better late than never

If a discussion is still receiving one rsponse a day then it could also be due to the fact that the OP comments on each and every one hence proving that comments are more than worth it

I also do that thing when no new topics are around, I still participate on a discussion even it is old as long as the discussion was interesting. And I will be proud also if I responded on a discussion with a lot of responses.

I always respond if the discussion is interesting, no matter if it has 1000 posts and a best response... The only exception is if the starter of the discussion has told that s/he doesn't want anybody to answer to it any more

Quite often if a post has a ton of responses I feel like my input really wouldn't be adding anything so I skip it. Unless it's something about personal preference or opinion. And sometimes if a BR is marked I feel as if the question has been answered or the advice someone was looking for was found so I don't see the point in joining in. That's why I always wait until my discussions have stopped getting responses for a few weeks before I indicate best response.

Nothing can stop me from responding to a good discussion if I happen to notice for the first time regardless of how old it may be or how many responses it received .Isn't there a dearth of good discussions here. Why to waste a golden chance as you stumble upon an interesting response.I would grab the opportunity with both my hands.

Yeah, it does depend on the discussion. If it's something that doesn't totally interest me then no, I won't respond. But if it's something that I do like then I will respond no matter how many other responses there are.

Hi regal_aeros,
Yes I would - as long as it is something I can answer and feel like answering.
The number of prior responses doesn't really affect my choice of responding to the discussion or not.

I don’t let the opportunity of a good discussion pass me by, ever! I don’t mind how many responses there have been or how old the post is; if I have something to say that I think is of value I will contribute. I noticed some have responded to my old more popular discussions and I appreciate them being ‘revived’.

Nope, you still get paid for the response you make (if you put a lot of thought into it) you never know, your response could be just what someone needed to read. I don't go actively seeking a 'best response' rating. Even though it would be nice at times. Haha. And I don't really look for the person to comment back on my response. It's nice when they do... but it doesn't end the world for me. I just respond to as much as I can on mylot. It's at times like a puzzle think of something meaningful and extended content to say on some of the most drab topics. You know the topics that I'm talking about. And, it is a fun game!
